Silverton Memory Cafe

Silverton Memory Cafe “A free, friendly meeting place for people with memory problems; their carers; families and friends.”

Silverton Memory Cafe was set up in June 2016 as the brainchild of Trish Jones and Paul Webster. Following the floating of the initial idea in the parish magazine, a large number of local residents offered their support and formed a steering committee. Dame Margaret Turner Warwick declared the Silverton Memory Cafe open for business on June 16 2016. During the Memory Cafe's first year, friendships

have developed and regular attendees continue to enjoy afternoons filled with fun and laughter, coupled with support and help when needed. Afternoons consist of both indoor and outdoor activities, refreshments, quizzes, bingo, interludes of singing and demonstrations from floral displays or armchair keep fit. Members also enjoyed a Christmas party, compliments of one of the volunteers with Ark Chicken Co., run by Jason Wise supplying a full festive meal.
