🌡️East Devon District Council - Heatwave Collection Update

Due to the current hot weather, recycling, waste and green waste collections will start earlier at 6:00am to help crews work in cooler conditions.

Please put your bins, boxes and bags out the night before or by 6am on your collection day.

Read the below post by East Devon District Council.

Recycling & Waste
We are currently experiencing a mini-heat wave! While many of us will enjoy the lovely weather, it makes the job even harder than normal for our collections crews, therefore, we will start recycling, waste and green waste collections at 6am during the warmer weather period, so that our crews are able to complete most of their rounds in the cooler part of the day. Please put your bins, boxes and bags out the night before, or by 6am on the day of collection.
Thank you for helping us look after our crews.

📢Basin 2C Area Reopening

Cranbrook Town Council is pleased to inform residents that the Basin 2C area has now reopened following the completion of outstanding drainage works, managed and delivered by the Consortium.

Prior to reopening, the Town Council carried out appropriate checks and liaison to ensure the area is safe and suitable for public use.

We understand the disruption and concern the works have caused over recent months and would like to thank residents for their patience throughout the delays in work completion. 🫶

Basin 2C improvement works have increased the basin’s capacity and improved surface water management through additional attenuation storage, controlled discharge, and overflow systems into downstream watercourses, and enhancing integration with surrounding development areas. These works help reduce flood risk within the town centre and nearby neighbourhoods whilst improving the efficiency of the Country Park as a flood plain. The works also support the safe continuation of the planned development within Cranbrook and its wider allocated growth area.

Please be mindful that whilst the area is open, seeding and ground establishment works are currently ongoing in areas adjacent to the paths. Please keep to the path whilst these areas are becoming established to help promote successful growth.🌱💚

With the area now open again, we hope residents can once again enjoy this part of the Country Park and surrounding green spaces.☺️
