St Peter's Church of England Aided School

St Peter's Church of England Aided School St Peter's is an 11-16 secondary school in Exeter, Devon, with over 1300 students. I am safe. I take considered risks in order to learn and grow.

Our passion for educating the whole character is supported by our Principles of HOPE. We aspire to enable every member of St Peter’s to be able to say, “People believe the best of me here. I bring the best of me to St Peter’s and serve others to live the best life they can too.”

Our Principles of HOPE are the means by which we achieve our vision. These are inspired by educational research and the

Christian understanding of hope which is ‘confident expectation’ and ‘firm assurance’.’

This means that we aim to provide HOPE to everyone in every situation. Our Principles of HOPE are embedded into our daily life and our long term aims so we enable all to live ‘life to the full’ and become the best well-rounded characters they can.

Dear Students, Parents and Carers

Sports Day and End of Term Update

Thank you for your understanding today with the power cut situation that meant it was unsafe to be on site for Sports Day as planned.

We have managed to reschedule Sports Day for Wednesday 22nd July. We will monitor the weather and anticipate the last lesson of the day will follow the usual timetable in classrooms. It will therefore be important that students bring in appropriate equipment for this lesson.

Please remember to bring in plenty of water to drink, sun hats, sun creams etc, so that Sports Day can be safe and enjoyable.

Character Award treat activities have been rescheduled for Thursday 23rd July and staff 'would I lie to you' will also go ahead for everyone to enjoy.

Term finishes on Friday 24th July at 12.15pm.

Yours faithfully

Phil Randall
Headteacher

Dear Students,Parents and Carers

Power cut in the area

Unfortunately due to the above information it is not safe for the school to be open today. The school has no electricity and is therefore not able to meet learning or health and safety needs. It was planned to be Sports Day and so we will look to reschedule this for later this week.

It is anticipated that the school and local area will return to full electricity function later today and so we anticipate being open as usual on Wednesday 22 July.

On Wednesday 15th July, the school held the Summer Music Concert in the hall. This was incredibly well attended, despite the heat and a certain football match, and almost 100 students performed!

These performances included Year 9 Taiko Drumming, Jazz Band, Junior Choir and MMC Choir, Jam Club, String orchestra, School Orchestra as well as solo performances from vocalists and pianists, and a stunning cello duet. There were also several bands performing original compositions.

Well done to all who performed and supported this event.

🎾 Wimbledon 2026 🎾

On Wednesday 8th July, a group of our students enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the Wimbledon Championships. We were incredibly fortunate to have tickets for No. 1 Court, giving us fantastic views of both the Ladies' and Gentlemen's Singles Quarter-Finals. Better still, the covered seating provided some welcome shade from the scorching summer temperatures, although it was still a very hot day!

Away from the courts, the students experienced the incredible atmosphere of Henman Hill, where they joined thousands of fans in cheering on Fery during his superb victory. No visit to Wimbledon would be complete without sampling the famous strawberries and cream, which proved to be a popular treat.

To make the day even more memorable, the students also had the opportunity to meet Grigor Dimitrov, Fery's fourth-round opponent, adding another special moment to an already incredible experience.

Although it was a long day, it was one filled with world-class tennis, unforgettable memories and experiences that our students will treasure for years to come.

A huge thank you to Miss Harvey for helping to make the trip possible and for sharing the driving to and from London. Her support was greatly appreciated and helped make such a fantastic day a reality.
