This Sunday 25th October 10-4
Exmouth Gate to Plate is back in the Strand

Look out for our Eco Tuk Tuk, with lots of information on how you can eat well (for yourself and the planet!); find out how to borrow and return an Exmouth Cup; swap some kitchen utensils and/or cookery books!

We'll also be giving out some information about what to do in an emergency, as part of our community resilience plan.

All this and lots of great local food and drink businesses, and it's free to attend!

🩸🌍 It’s Environmenstrual Week (19–25 Oct)!

Did you know most disposable pads contain up to 90% plastic, and the average person uses over 11,000 period products in their lifetime?

We're partnering with the University of Exeter and Devon Communities Together on a new study exploring reusable period products with 16–29 year olds in Exmouth, helping reduce waste, support menstrual health and tackle period poverty.

Interested? Recruitment starts in November. Email [email protected] or call 01395 276167.

🎉 Join CAG Devon for SkillShare26, celebrating 10 years of community action across Devon!

📅Saturday 7th November

📍The Ockment Centre, Okehampton
💚Free to attend (booking essential) - Book here: https://bit.ly/cag-devon-skillshare26

Under the theme "Reflection, Connection and Growth", CAG Devon's annual SkillShare will bring together community groups, volunteers, and local residents from across the county for a day of inspiration, learning and connection.

The event will feature practical workshops and discussions on visible mending and upcycling, climate conversations, nature apps, measuring impact, engaging young people in repair and reuse, volunteer wellbeing, food growing, and water resilience. There will also be a Fixy Tech Amnesty and a Winter Woollies & Festive Fun Clothes Swap.

It's an opportunity to celebrate a decade of achievements, connect with others taking action in their communities, and explore ideas for the future of community climate action in Devon.

🩸🌍 It’s Environmenstrual Week (19–25 Oct)!

According to Wen., people who menstruate use more than 11,000 disposable period products in their lifetime. Each period costs around £10 on average, almost £5,000 in total, and most single-use pads can be up to 90% plastic.

Reusables like period pants, washable pads, cups and discs may offer benefits for some people. Some can cost 88–98% less over time and cut as much as 200kg of menstrual waste per person.

We’re working with the University of Exeter and Devon Communities Together on a new study, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). It will ask young people aged 16–29 who live, work or study in Exmouth about their experiences of reusable period products, to support menstrual health, reduce waste and help tackle period poverty locally.

We're showing this important film on November 21st in the Town Hall, followed by a guided discussion and Q&A.

We aren't planning to lecture each other about recycling or composting. We are coming together to ask a massive, honest question: Are we actually prioritising the climate and nature crisis enough?

It’s a space to step back, look at the big picture, increase our awareness, and reflect on where this sits in our daily lives. No judgment, no echo chambers, just real talk about our shared future.

Come along, bring your doubts, bring your questions, and bring a friend who thinks these meetings are a waste of time. Let’s figure this out together.
