I am pleased to report that the Planning Application for a new facility for Exmouth Boxing Club has been approved at EDDC Planning Committee by 10 votes to 2.

On Monday 12th May I attended the Exmouth Town Council Planning Committee, once again to speak in support of Exmouth Amateur Boxing Club's application to build a new base at Warren View.

This was a revised application but this was the seventh time that this application has come before this committee.

Finally after 32 mins of deliberation which you can listen to on Exmouth Town Council's website, the application was passed with 8 votes in support and 1 abstention.

This now has to go to East Devon District Council for a final decision.

One of the coaches Neil Ferreday at Exmouth Amateur Boxing Club talking about their current situation for capacity.

I Fred attended the ETC planning committee meeting on Monday 4th November to speak in support of EABC.

Talking from a personal perspective, I was extremely disappointed that the planning committee of Exmouth Town Council decided to vote against this revised application for a new Boxing Club for EABC.

The work that many at the club put into the encouragement, training, discipline and improving the mental health and well being of boys and girls, young men and women should be applauded.

I have supported this venture from the beginning and can see the wider value, this facility can bring to the town on a shared site with Exmouth Town Football club as tenants of East Devon District Council. I have seen how much support there is from many of the townspeople of Exmouth using the communications medium of Social Media.

I do hope that the right decision is made through due process by the Local Planning Authority when it comes forward.

Should you wish to support this revised application, please send a letter of support to Planning West team, EDDC, Blackdown House Honiton by the 14th November .

Thank you.
