Warning 💊 | Dangerous fake weight loss drugs and other medicines

Tempting as it may be to save money, using fake online pharmacies puts you at risk of serious harm – check that any pharmacy you use is legitimate at the link at the end of this post.

Fake online pharmacies can dispense medicines that are inappropriate, ineffectively dosed, or even counterfeit. These counterfeit medicines can include seriously dangerous substances such as cement and even arsenic.

It's vitally important to make sure that any pharmacy you use is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

How to check an online pharmacy:
1. Find the pharmacy's GPhC registration number on its website.
2. Search for the pharmacy on the official GPhC register.
3. If the pharmacy is not listed, do NOT use it.

Electrifying news*

The eagle eyed out there will have spotted some new police cars around Ottery and Exmouth. I know there is a cohort of folk that are a bit more interested and I know there are folk that just see a white estate car with blue and yellow stickers - this is for the former I reckon😉 . We have one for Ottery patrol and one for Exmouth Neighbourhood team so far.
We are embracing modern times and are now buying Toyota Corolla hybrids. So not fully electric as that's not quite feasible for how we use our cars currently, but defiantly electric until you are out of town/going up Chineway/Marpol Hill, etc.
Also they have heated seats which is nice and a rare touch of luxury for a police vehicle.
Here is a picture of the Exmouth Neighbourhood Team's new car at the RTC at Blackhill Quarry yesterday. In the front you will see the evidence bag of rubbish I picked up whilst we had the road closed. I hate road side rubbish. Stop throwing your McDonalds wrappers, Monster cans, crips packets etc out of the window especially on Woodbury Common!! Otherwise we can enjoy a fairly litter free Blackhill corner for a few days.

"What's this town coming to for God sake"

Well, I do love it when someone with no info at all jumps on the socials and starts shouting about a matter for which they have no knowledge.
If we all sit on social media and just speculate all the time about kids being stabbed, people fighting on war memorials, etc, then yes, the town could seem a bit dodgy.

But whilst stuff does undoubtedly happen, most of the speculated matters do not - or certainly not as they are made out anyway.

So whilst we did deal with a group of individuals last night who had a disagreement amongst themselves, no one was stabbed, no knives were seen or located and everyone went on their way. Oh and apparently there were 8 cops on scene - Ill claim that bit. That sounds like a positive!

What makes a town look bad is speculating and stressing about an incident that did not occur, on a FB page with 100k followers. We are all, as keyboard warriors, responsible for our content and how/what it portrays or could be perceived.

I would also add that a lot of street crime that occurs in or around the Exmouth area of a more violent nature, is amongst known-to-each-other individuals who lead a particular lifestyle that most of us are not part of.

Well that felt like a rant and it probably was but given you would blame me, I might as well get it off my chest😉

It was an honour to be given an award today at the police Citizens in Policing event.
However, the real winners are you, the community.

My 'date' today was Bridget. Bridget was a special constable in Exmouth and the surround areas for 33 years and then went on to run the Exmouth Town CCTV for more years after that.
I was also really chuffed to be able to present Bridget her long lost Long Service medal. That was a really special moment as she has literally been a part of my entire career.

Ottery St Mary and Exmouth police have many volunteers that support it and yourselves. These range from Bruce our chaplain, Kelvin our vehicle maintenance guy, the Police Cadets that support us at big events such as the County Show, our team of special constables working from both stations, the accredited volunteers from South West 4x4 response that we have used across the Otter Valley floods and also at the Exmouth bomb...the list goes on.

So, whilst Bridget has done her time (she does keep asking me for a job doing something!), there are many others that are giving up their time to keep the community safe.

West Hill (as in the main road into Budleigh), Budleigh Salterton is BACK OPEN

Thank you for your patience.

For info, there is no suggestion from witnesses that the inverted car was speeding.
The bus.....The bus was another matter. That whilst unrelated to the RTC had become wedged trying to turn around. Like well and truly properly jammed in. The commercial recovery truck had to disassemble the back of the bus and then lift the chassis round. That took some hours.

West Hill Budleigh Salterton ROAD CLOSED

We are currently on scene at an RTC with an upside down car. Unfortunatly, a bus has got jammed trying to turn and now also needs recovery as well.

What a saga! Thankfully no one is hurt and replacement bus service has been organised.

Last year, after getting regular complaints from Clyst Honiton residents, we engaged our Road Safety team who rose to the challenge.

30, that's THREE ZERO points!!! That's got to be some kind of record!

Day 2 of the great Exmouth sight seeing tour - minus the land train. What did we learn from day 1?

Aaaarghhh! Cones. Signs. New white lines..... "I have lived here all my life and never been up this road", "I know a short cut that no one else knows" (well only another 10,000 other locals anyway)

Its nothing to do with the police and we cant magic it all back to normal - we sit in the same traffic queues as you being hopeful we are in a police car with DAB radio. However, all the short cutting down the lanes is getting no one anywhere fast and just causing frustration and jams.

Please just add some time for your journey and remember that there a lot of drivers out there that are either learning, new or just not confident - or just don't have a clue where they are going. Give people time and space and we will all live harmoniously together 😍

I would direct you to the Devon Highways website to work out what is open, what is closed, what is one-way, what is residents only - that means people that live in that road, not residents of the whole town.

Bank Holiday! | Have a safe TRIP

Whether you’re leaving the south west or coming to visit, have a safe and enjoyable summer holiday road trip.

Follow the T.R.I.P. checks every driver needs to perform to keep themselves, their passengers and other road users safe.

TOP UP your fuel or battery, oil and screen wash
REST with planned stops of at least 15 minutes every two hours
INSPECT tyre pressure, tread depth and for cracks or tears before setting out
PREPARE for all weather conditions…it may be very hot, or we may have rain and thunderstorms

We’ll add that SPEED limits are there for your safety, they are not a target. Drive within the limit and to prevailing road, weather and traffic conditions. So, TRIPS: as easy to remember as TRIP.
