As we close another wonderful school year, we would like to wish all of our children, families and our wider school community a happy, safe and relaxing summer break. We hope you enjoy making special memories with those you love. ☀️💛

To our incredible staff – thank you for your dedication, care and commitment throughout the year. Your hard work has made a difference every single day and we hope you enjoy a truly well-deserved rest and the opportunity to recharge over the summer.

To all of our families, thank you for your continued support, encouragement and partnership. Together, we have made this another successful and memorable year.

To those moving on to the next chapter of your journey, we wish you every success and happiness. Remember, wherever life takes you, you will always be a part of the Exeter Road family. ❤️

A big thank you to Lympstone Boxing club for joining us this week to give some basic boxing training to our Year 6 children. The children enjoyed the skills and games they played with Stevie and Tommy. Our children displayed courage, resilience and determination as well as enjoying themselves. If you would like your child to have the same experience as our year 6 children you can join the club on Tuesday and Thursdays evenings at 6pm for their Junior sessions, costing £1 per session. Boxing is a great sport which not only encourages discipline but has great fitness benefits as well as being a lot of fun so please get yourself along to the Lympstone Boxing club which is located just further down from Exmouth museum, in town. Big thanks again to Stevie and Tommy for joining us in our school hall this week!

🍎 Free School Meals – Important Update for September 2026 🍎

From September 2026, Free School Meals (FSM) in England are expanding. If your household receives Universal Credit, your child may now be eligible, regardless of your income.

📢 Apply before 31st August to ensure your child doesn’t miss out.

Families currently receiving Free School Meals should also recheck their eligibility with Devon County Council before the autumn census, as transitional protections are ending this academic year.

With the hot weather forecast for this week, we will be making some adjustments to outdoor play and lunchtime activities to help keep children comfortable and safe in the heat.
Please could we remind you of the following:

☀️ Hoodies and jumpers can be left at home during this warm spell.

💧 Water bottles are essential and should be brought into school every day. Children will be able to refill them in their classrooms throughout the day.

🧴 Sun cream should be applied before your child comes to school. If you would like your child to reapply sun cream during the day, they may bring their own named bottle into school. Please remind them not to share sun cream with friends, as this helps us protect children with allergies and sensitivities.

🧢 If your child brings a hat to school, please ensure it is clearly named so that any lost items can be quickly reunited with their owner.
