There's exciting news from our flamingo flock as nesting season gets underway, and we now have multiple eggs across the habitat! ๐Ÿฅšโœจ

Flamingos build raised mud nests to help protect their eggs, and both parents play an important role in incubation, taking turns to keep them warm while they patiently await their arrival.

Nesting season is one of the most fascinating times of year for the flock. From courtship displays and nest building to dedicated parenting duties, there's plenty of flamingo behaviour to observe during your visit.
With several eggs already laid, we're keeping everything crossed for a successful breeding season and look forward to sharing any future updates with you all! ๐Ÿ’—

While many visitors are enjoying the trails, our Reserve Team has been busy uncovering some of the incredible wildlife stories unfolding across the reserve.

From the delicate flutter of a Green-veined White butterfly and the dazzling colours of an Azure Damselfly, to a fascinating Rustic Sailor Beetle and a furry Drinker Moth caterpillar, every corner of Pensthorpe is bursting with life at this time of year.

Perhaps most exciting of all, this is shaping up to be one of our best years yet for birds using our nest boxes, with healthy broods keeping our team busy monitoring and recording their progress.

Our camera traps are helping us uncover more about Pensthorpe's newest residents, but every time we check the footage we're reminded that nature always has a few surprises in store.

Alongside the beaver sightings we're searching for, we've captured a wonderful collection of wildlife encounters, fascinating behaviours and beautiful moments from across the reserve - many of which would otherwise go completely unseen.

A huge congratulations to on winning Small Garden of the Year at this year's Chelsea Flower Show! ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŒฟ

The talented team behind the award-winning Addleshaw Goddard: Freedom To Flourish Garden will be familiar to many Pensthorpe visitors, having helped create and install our Biosonification Garden last September.

It's wonderful to see their creativity, craftsmanship and planting expertise recognised at Chelsea, and we're delighted to have a little piece of their award-winning work right here at Pensthorpe.

From atmospheric coastal scenes to vibrant still life paintings, their work perfectly captures the beauty, colour and character of Norfolk - making this a fantastic opportunity to browse, chat and perhaps even take home something truly special.

And with our brand new gallery space in our former discovery centre, there's even more reason to visit Pensthorpe over the next few months. Both the Pop Up Shop and gallery will be free to explore and browse, making them the perfect addition to a relaxed visit for coffee and cake in the cafรฉ โ˜•๐Ÿฐ
