Active Fakenham is delighted to announce the return of the Fakenham Arts Festival — our latest community initiative designed to strengthen local connections and celebrate creativity across the town.

Building on the incredible success of the 2025 Festival, this year’s event promises to be even bigger and more inspiring. Set against the charming backdrop of Fakenham’s historic streets and contemporary venues, the festival will take you on an extraordinary artistic journey through our community.

From 1st to 28th August 2026, more than fifty venues and over forty artists will come together to showcase a diverse and exciting range of artistic expression.

What to Expect

🎨 Art in a variety of media displayed throughout the town
🗺 A children’s art trail with a free activity pack

🖌 Engaging workshops and creative session
🎬 Biographical arts films at Fakenham’s Central Cinema

The 2026 programme is a true celebration of the creative spirit that thrives in Fakenham and beyond. Whether you are an art enthusiast, a family looking for summer activities, or simply curious to explore something new, there will be something for everyone.

🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️🚣Have you entered our cardboard raft race yet?

Part of the Riverside Community Festival on the 21st June, this is a fun family event, and we are looking for some exciting and colourful boats, so why not give it a go?

It is free to enter, but you must pre-book for this event, which is run in partnership with Wensum Ospreys canoe club.

The course is about 100 metres in total, and we have the following prizes and categories
1. 🥇🥈🥉 1st, 2nd, 3rd fastest to complete the course
2. 🌊Most spectacular sinking
3. 🚣‍♀️Best fancy dress –raft and crew
