CHOOSE - The Scottish Child Payment

The Scottish Child Payment is helping keep around 40,000 children out of relative poverty this year alone - cutting Scotland’s child poverty rate by around 4%.

It’s a policy only available in Scotland, because it’s a choice made by Scotland’s Parliament to support families.

Important Update on Postal Voting

New changes being introduced which enable online applications for postal votes will not be in place for the Scottish Election on 7 May 2026. If you have applied online for a Postal Vote at the Westminster elections this will not apply to the Scottish Parliament or local Council Elections and you will need to complete a paper application to vote by Post on 7th May 2026.

Families gather to light diyas (lamps), create beautiful rangoli patterns, share sweets and meals, exchange gifts, and offer prayers for prosperity and wellbeing. It’s a time of renewal, kindness, and togetherness—values we can all share.

Labour now say there’ll be no referendum—even if the SNP wins a majority—so it’s clear Scotland must take our future into our own hands. With Farage’s rise and the UK’s democratic deficit worsening, our task is to deliver an indisputable SNP majority next year on the new boundaries finalised on 16 October; my team in Falkirk East and Linlithgow is ready. I’ve signed Scotland’s Right to Decide, welcomed the Gaza ceasefire while insisting on aid access, accountability and a two-state solution, and left Conference energised by a clear, positive offer: a fresh start with independence, cutting NHS bottlenecks through walk-in GP centres and supporting care with sponsored visas. Now let’s persuade our friends and neighbours—independence won’t happen by itself.
