Yesterday we - Alan, Kay, Laura Len with Marc & Craig - ticked two grand Munros, Beinn Fhionnlaidh & Sgurr na h-Ulaidh from Glen Etive.

We had perfect weather for the outing and made decent time on a fairly demanding round which linked both hills by weaving down and up the steep ground either side of Bealach Caol Creran - definitely a dry weather / good visibility / very competent party route only.

Our High Tops programme is now paused until August, when we plan to visit these Cairngorm gems:

Still spaces on that walk if you're interested. If that seems perhaps a big day out, we have more accessible walks here:

Last week we ran our first High Tops expedition of the summer.

Carol, Christine, Fiona, M, Mel, Petra, Raymond & Virginia - led by Craig - headed into the Great Wilderness of the Fisherfield Forest to tick the Corbetts Beinn Dearg Bheag, Beinn Dearg Mhor & Beinn a' Chaisgein Mor.

We walked in From Gruinard and set up camp for our two nights at the head of Loch Ghiubhsachain, which provided a level grassy site with access to good water - an oasis of flat in an otherwise rough and tussocky landscape (although there was another site we had earmarked a wee bit further up the glen).

Our big hill day involved stringing a route to the top of all three Corbetts which gave us a long circuit of mostly pathless walking interspersed with the odd hill path and a section of fine stalkers path. We visited some very remote country.

Well done to all the High Toppers for the mutual support and camaraderie which made the trip a memorable one.

Earlier this week we ran a Mountain Training Scotland Hill and Moorland Leader training course for five enthusiastic, experienced candidates.

We visited a couple of areas in the Ochils on the first couple of days, enjoying a late finish due to practising night navigation; on the final day we went to the moorland around Cringate Law in the Gargunnock Hills area.
