📣 Last chance to have your say on keeping Fareham together

The Government has asked all councils in England to consider reorganisation. Fareham Borough Council is working with Gosport, Havant, and Portsmouth councils to develop a proposal for a single Unitary Authority that reflects our shared communities and boundaries.

➡️ However, there are alternative suggestions being considered - such as moving the Locks Heath, Park Gate, and Sarisbury wards into a different authority alongside Southampton and Eastleigh.

➡️ We do not support this proposal, but we want to hear from you. Your feedback is vital in helping shape the future of local government in Fareham.

It was a great pleasure to be at the opening of a new hair salon in Sarisbury Green last night. The Blond Co Salon, based at 216 Barnes Lane, is Clare Stanford’s second salon and it’s great to see a new business open in these difficult times!

SOUTHERN WATER HOSEPIPE BAN

Hosepipe restrictions will be in place across Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight from 9am on Monday 21st July. This includudes the west of Fareham Borough (Sarisbury, Locks Heath, Warsash, etc) where our drinking water is supplied by Southern Water. The east of the Borough is supplied by Portsmouth Water where there is no plan for a ban. Southern Water states:

“We recognise that customers with medical needs may still need to use a hosepipe. Customers on our Priority Services Register with medical or mobility needs, including Blue Badge holders and those on our WaterSure tariff, are exempt. Anything you can do to reduce or avoid hosepipe use would be greatly appreciated.

“The Environment Agency has declared the Solent and South Downs in ‘prolonged dry weather’. We need to work together to protect precious chalk streams and keep taps flowing.”
