Fareham & Portchester Libraries - Hampshire County Council Fareham Library is a bustling library on two floors opposite Fareham Shopping Centre. A busy two story building in the heart of Fareham town centre.

Portchester Library is located on West Street, in the same building as Portchester Surgery, in Portchester. As well as books we lend magazines, DVDs, music CDs, spoken word cassettes and CDs as well as many other items. We have free internet access and Wi-Fi connection available to all. We run a wide range of courses including basic computing, languages, family history and crafts. We also have a well stocked local studies area, access to eBooks and a whole host of online resources.

🎉🎶 What an amazing summer of reading we've had so far! 🎉🎶

It has been wonderful to see so many children visiting Fareham and Portchester Libraries to complete their Summer Reading Challenge and pick up their certificates and medals. Congratulations to every single one of you! 🏅📚

With only 11 days left, there's still plenty of time to join in. We can't wait to welcome more young readers and celebrate their fantastic achievements. 🥰

Remember, there are lots of ways to earn your six stickers and complete the challenge, including:

🎶 Reading a graphic novel or comic
🎶 Visiting the library six or more times
🎶 Writing a review of a book you've read
🎶 Read something by a new author

Have you tried one of our BookTrust Storytime sessions yet?

Join us at Fareham Library this Friday at 2 pm for the next book in our current series - 'The Horse that Jumped' by Thomas Docherty.

If you haven't got one already, you'll be able to collect your BookTrust sticker book along with the sticker to show you've heard this week's story.

We'll also be sharing other stories and songs together.

📚🎶Thank you to everyone who has already made this year's Summer Reading Challenge so special at Portchester Library! 📚🎶

We have absolutely loved hearing about all the wonderful books our young readers have enjoyed and the fun they've had completing the challenge.

With September just around the corner and the new school term about to begin, we can't wait to welcome the rest of our finishers. And remember, the library is the perfect place to visit after school! 😊🎒

🏅 The challenge runs until Saturday 12 September, and we can't wait to hand out more well-deserved medals and certificates.

New Adult Learning Course: English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) - Improvers

📅 Dates: Mondays, 7 September to 19 October
🕐 Time: 1:00pm to 3:00pm

About the Course
This course provides an opportunity to improve your spoken English, listening and comprehension skills, and written English in a supportive group environment.

Who is the Course For?
Funded by the UK Government, this course is open to Hampshire residents aged 19 and over who would like to develop their English language skills.

Handmade Book Cushions and Book Accessories at Fareham Library!

Handmade creations on the Large Art Wall at Fareham Library from Saturday 5 September to Friday 2 October.

Fareham Library Craft Fair on Saturday 5 September- 10am to 3pm.

"What started with a bedtime story book cushion for my granddaughter soon grew into a collection of cushions for children, adults, puzzle books and colouring books too!
All items are available to purchase for £15 each."

Do you enjoy singing, rhymes, and helping young children learn?

Fareham Library is looking for volunteers to support our popular Toddler Rhymetime sessions on Friday mornings.

As a volunteer, you could help by:
Welcoming families
Assisting with setting up and tidying away
Supporting staff during the session
Helping create a warm and friendly atmosphere for children, parents and carers

If you're interested in volunteering or would like to find out more, please speak to a member of staff at Fareham Library.
