School holidays + a bored teenager = apparently the perfect opportunity for a day out with Dad!

Lewis swapped his summer holiday lie-in for a day on the road with Matt, helping out on a few water softener installs and getting a proper behind-the-scenes look at what Dad actually does all day.

His verdict by the end?

“This is tiring… I can see why Dad moans about his back!” 😂

Nothing like a little work experience to create some newfound appreciation!

We’re not sure we’ve recruited our next water softener engineer just yet, but it was great having an extra pair of hands for the day.

And we suspect tomorrow’s summer holiday plans may involve considerably more sitting down…

Good news, this is usually completely normal.

In many block salt softeners, one block sits closer to the brine valve, meaning it gets used slightly faster during regeneration.

So if one side disappears before the other, don’t panic your softener is usually still working perfectly.

Easy fix:
No fix needed!
Just keep topping up with the correct salt as normal.

Top tip:
Always use high-quality salt designed for your system.

Don’t panic ... it happens more often than you’d think.

If your softener has run out of salt, it will stop producing softened water until it regenerates again properly.

Easy fix:
💧refill with the correct salt
💧allow the system to regenerate
💧check for any salt build-up while you’re there

You may notice hard water for a short time, but most systems recover perfectly fine once topped up.
