This is often called salt creep or salt crystallisation.

It can happen when moisture and airflow cause salt residue to dry and form crystals around the lid or inside the cabinet. It looks alarming… but it’s usually not serious.

Common causes:
💧humidity
💧warm locations
💧airflow around the unit

Easy fix:
Wipe away the crystals with warm water and a cloth, then dry the area thoroughly. Then add a thin layer of Vaseline around the seal.

Top tip:
Keeping the area clean and using good quality salt can help reduce build-up.

Winning the Southampton City Cup on penalties in an epic final will be a core memory.

It was their last game together at youth level with 6 players, including Jack, being with the club since day one.
