🎉 Vehicle Exhbitor tickets are now LIVE for the Faversham Festival of Transport 2027! 🚗🚌🏍️

Join us as we celebrate 30 Years of the Faversham Festival of Transport on Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th May 2027 in the heart of our beautiful historic town.

Whether you're a classic car enthusiast, motorcycle lover, bus fan, or simply looking for a fantastic family day out, this special anniversary event promises an incredible display of vehicles, live music, delicious food and drink, and a fantastic atmosphere throughout Faversham.

🚘 Vehicle Exhibitors: Entries are now open for the Main Car Show on Sunday 16th May 2027 (10:00am–4:00pm). Exhibitor tickets are available until Sunday 31st January 2027, so don't miss your chance to be part of this landmark 30th anniversary celebration.

There are just a few days left to visit the exhibition at Faversham Town Hall and see the proposals for the future of the Old Town Warehouse.

The exhibition closes on Friday 4 September, so if you haven’t visited yet, now is the time!

Please note that this is not a staffed exhibition, so members of the project team will not be available to answer questions. You can browse the exhibition at your own pace and complete a questionnaire before you leave.

East West Cross Town Walking Route Wins Prestigious National Award

Faversham's East West Cross Town Walking Route has been recognised with a prestigious national award, highlighting the success of a partnership project that has improved opportunities for walking across the town.

The route was named winner of the Urban Transport Design Award at the Annual Transport Practitioners Meeting, held in Manchester in July.

The award citation specifically recognised the collaborative work of Faversham Town Council, Kent County Council and Swale Borough Council, whose partnership helped deliver the project and its benefits for local residents and visitors. It was developed through a process of community engagement and draws heavily on the proposals in the Faversham Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan.

The East West Cross Town Walking Route, which runs from Lower Road, through the town to the Recreation Ground, was developed to make walking across the town easier, safer and more attractive, encouraging active travel and helping people access key destinations without relying on a car.

The recognition does not end with the award. The walking route has also been selected to feature in a forthcoming Sport England walkability best practice guide, due to be published this autumn. Inclusion in the guide will showcase the project as an example of good practice to local authorities and transport professionals across the country.

Councillor Ben Martin, Chair of the Active Travel Committee at Faversham Town Council, said:

"We are delighted that the East West Cross Town Walking Route has received this national recognition. This award reflects the successful partnership between Faversham Town Council, Kent County Council and Swale Borough Council, and our shared commitment to making it easier and more enjoyable for people to walk around the town. It is particularly pleasing that the project will also be highlighted in Sport England's forthcoming best practice guide, helping to inspire similar initiatives elsewhere."

Local Government Reorganisation

@ Swale Borough Council is carrying out a survey to find out what matters most to local people as we prepare for changes to local government in Kent.

From April 2028, Swale Borough Council will be replaced by a new unitary council covering Swale, Ashford, Folkestone and Hythe.

In the meantime, local services will continue to be delivered, and this survey is an opportunity to share your views on what works well in your area, what could be improved, and what issues matter most to you.

Your views will help shape local priorities and provide the new council with a clear picture of what is important to people living in our communities.
