πŸ“’β˜Ž UK LANDLINE SWITCH-OFF ☎ πŸ“’
πŸ“’β˜Ž WHAT RESIDENTS SHOULD KNOW ☎ πŸ“’

The UK’s old copper landline network (PSTN) is being switched off by January 2027 and replaced with digital phone services.

For many households the change will be straightforward, but older residents and those using telecare devices, pendant alarms or older home phones may need to take additional steps to ensure everything continues working correctly.

Residents are encouraged to:
β€’ check whether their current phone will still work
β€’ contact telecare or alarm providers
β€’ ask providers about emergency backup during power cuts

Download the checklist:

‼️ DOG DAY CANCELLED THIS WEEKEND ‼️

Due to the forecast of unseasonably high temperatures on Saturday (30 May), we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Dog Day event.

This decision has been taken following professional advice, as the welfare of all dogs is our top priority. We feel it would be unsafe to host the event or encourage dogs to attend in such high temperatures.

We sincerely apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause and greatly appreciate your understanding.

We are hoping to reschedule the event, potentially in September, and will share a new date as soon as this is confirmed. πŸ™

Information for anyone heading towards Witham this afternoon

Firefighters are at the scene of a vehicle fire on the A12 at Witham Southbound between Junction 22 and 21.

Due to a difficult water supply, nine crews are working to put the fire out affecting a vehicle carrier on the hard shoulder.

The A12 is closed and will remain closed at Witham on the Southbound side while we put the fire out. Thank you for your patience.
