MISSING | We are appealing for help and information from the public to find a missing man in Ferndown.

Graham, aged 78, left the area of West Moors Road between 11pm on Thursday 25 June and 6am on Friday 26 June 2026.

He is described as five feet six inches tall with short black and grey hair, a scar on his cheek and is believed to be wearing a cream-coloured hat and black trainers.

Inspector Craig Tiernan, of Dorset Police, said: “Graham can become easily confused and it is very out of character for him to leave the area unexpectedly.

“I would urge anyone who may have seen Graham in the area, or has information about his whereabouts, to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Graham’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police online or by calling 999, quoting incident number 26:167.

Proposed Temporary Closure of Greensome Drive, Ferndown

Dorset Council have received an application from Openreach to close Greensome Drive, Ferndown between Stapleford Avenue and 7 Greensome Drive, a distance of approximately 40 metres. The closure has been requested to allow Openreach to lay new duct. These works are programmed to commence from 7th September 2026 until 9th September 2026.

Openreach will publicise the road closure in a number of ways: they will place information boards on the road in this area to inform the travelling public of the works; they will carry out a letter drop to local residents directly affected by the works; and they will sign a vehicular diversion route using the local road network. The following map shows the extent of the closure and the diversion route.

This document is for information only, however if you have any concerns about this proposal, please contact Jamie Igoe via [email protected] by 21st August 2026.

VICTORIA ROAD

Ferndown Town Council is pleased to share the designs for the long-awaited improvements to Victoria Road.

The scheme reflects the shared commitment of councillors and officers from both councils, whose collective vision, collaboration and investment have helped shape proposals that will enhance the town centre for residents, businesses and visitors, and builds upon the work of Councillors Lugg and Parkes (Ferndown North) which dates back many years. By working together since the elections in May 2024, both councils have been able to develop and finance a scheme which reflected as closely as possible the views of residents.

The next stage of the project will focus on identifying opportunities to provide much-needed accessible and short-term parking, responding to requests from local businesses and residents, whilst ensuring that pedestrian safety remains the highest priority. Details of the proposed Traffic Regulation Order, which would support these measures, will be published shortly, and residents are encouraged to take part in the consultation when it opens.

This project demonstrates what can be achieved when local councils work together with a shared purpose, Ferndown Town Council and Dorset Council look forward to continuing this positive partnership as the project progresses and to working together on future initiatives that will benefit the wider community.

⚠️With exceptionally high temperatures forecast over the next few days, and a weather warning currently in place, customers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys. Roads are expected to be busier than usual, particularly on routes towards coastal areas and beaches.

We also recommend that customers carry water with them and take care when travelling in the heat.

The welfare of our drivers and customers remains our priority. We are supporting our drivers throughout the hot weather by ensuring they have regular access to drinking water and the opportunity to stay properly hydrated while operating services safely.
