All of us at Ferring Pillbox are delighted to announce we will be launching Pete Coe’s second book ‘Tales from the Home Front’
Ferring at War Part 2 at our Open Day on 16th August.
Although this is a stand alone book it makes a great addition to his first Book ‘Ferring at War’
This new book looks at the life the villagers led during WWII and a particular look at some of its residents who became prisoners of war.
Written in Pete’s distinctive informative and funny style which makes it a very interesting and easy read.
All profits will be split between the Pillbox Maintenace fund and other local charities.
Please come and secure your copy on this first print run, it also makes an excellent present.
The first book Ferring at War will also be available at £10
To take away on the day it’s £10 cash or to pay by PayPal please contact [email protected]

Well our open day on Friday was a great success, the weather was good and we had the most visitors we’ve had all season. Thank you to all who came along it would be a bit lonely without you 😄 and we raised over £100 from donations for our maintenance fund.
It was great to see lots of children engaging in our local history.
If you have missed our open days the next one is on Saturday 16th August for VJ Day with our final one for the season on 20th September.

For all those concerned about the whereabouts of the plaque on the Pillbox, we have replaced the original, which was deteriorating with the effects of salt air with a more robust version made of Corian. This is now back on the Pillbox.
