The Mayor of Fishguard and Goodwick, Cllr Steve Hughes, has just embarked on his 2 day indoor rowing challenge, raising funds for a wonderful local charity, Paul Sartori. He is intending to row 100km (62 miles), the equivalent distance between Fishguard and Rosslare.
He is taking on this challenge in the foyer of Fishguard Town Hall today and tomorrow, on a rowing machine kindly loaned by Fishguard Sea Cadets. Pop in and give him a cheer if you're in town. If you would like to make a donation:

It was a busy weekend for the Mayor of Fishguard and Goodwick and his consort. There was the annual food festival, hosted at Ysgol bro Gwaun, organised by the Fishguard bay Sustainable Food Initiative, a hugely successful event which continues to grow in popularity. Then the Saturday Craft, Collectables and Curios market, held in Fishguard Town Hall, was celebrating a year of running its popular market which raises money for local good causes. The Mayor was honored to judge the fancy dress. Finally, the Mayor and his consort, Jayne Hughes were delighted to attend the Mayor of Neyland's Civic ceremony.
