Flamborough Parish Council urge residents to please be cautious regarding potential scams. Whether this is a fraudulent email, scam phone calls, shopping online for goods or answering to cold callers at home – if something seems ‘too good to be true’, it often is.
Banks and mobile phone networks will generally never ask for your bank details over the phone. If in doubt, return the call yourself by checking for the official number and don’t give out details when answering a call.
Cold callers may try to sell you solar panels or double glazing, they may offer false government incentives such as heating grants, or they may offer services such as gardening, driveway or patio cleaning or roofing services. Please be vigilant and cautious to what could potentially be a scam.
