The station welcomed staff from Currys Bridlington this afternoon who presented Flamborough RNLI with a cheque for £504.30. The RNLI is the chosen charity of Currys this year and this donation was the proceeds of the recent raffle of a 55" TV. Shout: HM Coastguard requested the launch of Flamborough RNLI lifeboat at 12:07 following reports of paddle boarders in difficulty.

The volunteer crew launched at 12:13, responding swiftly to the incident. On arrival at Five Arches, near North Landing, the crew found four people in difficulty with two paddle boards. The casualties were successfully recovered and safely landed at North Landing, where they were handed into the care of the HM Coastguard Rescue Team.

While returning to station, the crew were tasked again by HM Coastguard to assist a further two paddle boarders and a dog in difficulty near North Landing. One casualty had taken on water and required medical attention. The lifeboat crew brought both casualties and their dog safely ashore at North Landing, where they were also transferred into the care of the HM Coastguard Rescue Team.

The lifeboat returned to station at South Landing at 13:16. The volunteer crew and shore crew then worked together to clean, refuel and prepare the lifeboat and launching tractor, ensuring they were ready for the next service.

A successful double shout highlighting the dedication, professionalism and rapid response of Flamborough RNLI’s volunteer crew.
