Breamore House & Countryside Museum

Breamore House & Countryside Museum Set in the beautiful Hampshire countryside, this magnificent 400 year old house is a step in to the past. Breamore House, Fordingbridge, SP6 2DF

Focussing on farming from the past, our Countryside Museum has something for everyone. The magnificent Manor House, completed in 1583, is set above the historic village of Breamore overlooking the Avon Valley on the edge of the New Forest. It was purchased in the early 18th Century by Sir Edward Hulse, Baronet, M.D.,Physician in Ordinary at the Court of Queen Anne, George I and George II. The hous

e has been lived in for the past 250 years by Sir Edward's descendants and remains very much the home of the Hulses. Within the grounds of the estate is our Countryside Museum, a look back at village life and industry from the past. With a particular focus on agriculture through the ages, our impressive collection of vintage tractors and steam engines tells the story of mechanisation through the last 100 years. The Countryside Museum and Farm Shop are open Tuesday - Sunday 11am - 4pm. House visits are by guided tour only, tours are available Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday between 2pm and 4pm. This Friday, come and join us for the first ever production inside our walled garden. Brought to you by Illyria, Pinocchio!

A wooden puppet runs away yearning for adventure, but instead finds cruel bosses, con-artists and exciting attractions which always contain hidden dangers. How can he ever become a real boy when even the lies he tells to cover up awkward truths are as plain as the nose on his face?
