Well , dug out my old 3822 cadet record book . Signed up for this fantastic organisation 50 years ago this month , ! So many great memories, great experiences and some exceptional people. Even found my set of drill orders for my last Ground Training Competition day from 1984 !!!! Were did those 50 years go !!!!

Finally received some photographs from Ryan in the USA . Ryan , had to stand down as our CO and leave his full time day , to fulfill his dream of becoming a Commercial airline pilot. The first part of his training was all ground school in the UK . Now part 2 is in Arizona for his basic pilot training . As he is still an officer on our squadron , he has promised to talk to our cadets on his progress as soon as he returns ready for stage 3 . As ever we wish him the best of luck for his inevitable success. “Adapt, Improvise, Overcome “👍👍

This week one of our members of staff organised for 611 to give a history talk to students at Dixons Broadgreen Academy were he is a teacher. We brought along a selection of genuine WW1 and WW2 items from various nations . The students are part of the school history club , and is the first time they had ever had the chance to see and handle kit from the 20th century conflicts in Europe . Plus we did a bit of recruiting for the ATC squadrons that are local to the school

Last night 611 Sqn visited Fulwood barracks and the Lancashire Infantry Museum. We were given a tour, a chance to get hands on with some the exhibits and learnt about the history of our local British Army infantry regiments.
A huge thank you to Col. Glover for his time and expertise.

Last night we had our second military field trip in a week . This time we were invited to Fulwood Barracks in Preston , and given a guided tour of the museum by Major Glover , including behind the scenes in the stores and the camp Chapel.The tour was all about the history of the British Army Regiments that have been raised in Lancashire and Merseyside. Both of these trips focused on the British Military from an army view rather than our normal RAF interests .

Well this morning saw some of our cadets and staff set off early on a trip up to Chipping , for an exclusive guided tour of a private military museum. Cadets were given an insight into some of the military hardware used by the allied forces in WW2 . It’s not often you get up close to 4 WW2 tanks , including a Sherman and a very rare Canadian Sexton . Many thanks to Chris Till and his dad for this amazing opportunity
