🚒 RTC Exercise last night 🚒

Tonight we arranged a RTC exercise with Ledbury Fire Station

Collaborating in realistic joint training. During these session we get to practise are skills for when they really are needed.

A great session with some great learning opportunities and feedback.

Happy New Year all from the team at Fownhope station 43 what a year it’s been, totalling 235 calls and see some major changes and also celebrating some good news and mile stones.

3 new recruits in the last few months

Jake passing out and also winner of the silver axe for best recruit of the year

Tom for passing out and getting a temporary contract in whole time

WC Limb celebrating 40 years service and CC Jones celebrating 30 years

CC Lockley-Holder receiving a invite to compete at the world level in Brazil and much more

🚒 🔥 no posts for a while but will update all about new team members and other news soon. BUT your little local fire station and staff and reached and responded now to 202 fire calls now so far this year !!! 🚒 🔥

Last night for our weekly drill session we took part in our quarterly testing of our WFR (water first responder) kit and carried out a simulated rescue from a bridge in Hereford with our designated instructor.

⚠️ The Met Office has issued an Amber alert for high temperatures across the West Midlands from 12 PM Fri 11 July to 9 AM Mon 14 July. The risk of wildfires is high. Stay hydrated, stay safe, and report any signs of fire.

STATION OPEN DAY AT ROSS ON WYE

Go and take a look, see how a on call station works, there’s live demonstrations, a charity fitness fund raiser, food and fire engine rides.

This will also be supported by Fownhope Fire Crews whilst still maintaining our own availability.

Last nights drill we carried out a pumping drill to incorporate our quarterly pumping tests and also some radio message input for our soon to be new response driver

Busy day yesterday for Fownhope crew with a large fire in Rotherwas, then on our way back to station we got asked to proceed to Ross High Town for a building fire. Crews enjoyed chips for tea as finished around 21.30 when the first call was around 15.00
