SNP MSP, Hannah Mary Goodlad, is spending taxpayers’ money on a painter, sculptor or musician for her Shetland constituency office.

Residents will rightly question why their hard-earned cash is being spent on this when so many are struggling to make ends meet.

The SNP are completely out of touch if they think taxpayers should be footing the bill for this while ordinary Scots are counting every penny.

A rookie SNP minister is advertising for an artist-in-residence to create works about her political opinions.

I was very pleased that my first amendment as an MSP was passed in parliament yesterday.

Rather than sacrificing the industry’s future, both of Scotland’s governments at Westminster and Holyrood should work with the sector to champion fishing and protect the thousands of livelihoods associated with it.

If we’re serious about supporting Scotland’s fishing industry, then fishermen need to be properly recognised, protected and compensated when they suffer losses.

One of the issues I addressed yesterday in the 'Scottish Government Debate: Supporting Scotland’s Fishing Industry' was the issue of One-Net Rule.

Several skippers were in touch with me prior to the debate to raise concerns about Marine Scotland wanting a one net rule back in by the end of the year, which could be prohibitively expensive for them considering fuel prices in this country.

I am pleased Jim Fairlie MSP, the Minister for Agriculture, Marine and the Islands, has offered to hold a meeting with me to discuss this further.

I am delighted that my amendment was voted through today. With near full support across the chamber.

I spoke in today's debate on supporting Scotland’s fishing industry, putting forward an amendment calling for Parliament to back the principle of compensation for fishermen who suffer financial loss due to offshore wind developments.

I was also pleased to secure commitment from Minister Jim Fairlie to hold a meeting with me on the implementation of the one net rule.

Proud to stand up for our fishing industry and my folk.

These appalling figures are an extraordinary failure by the SNP. On their watch we are now seeing the worst ever A&E waiting times being recorded at the height of summer, rather than the depths of winter.

John Swinney cannot keep claiming the NHS is improving while the SNP presides over record-breaking waits. With winter still ahead, ministers urgently need to explain how they will stop this crisis getting completely out of control.
