A senior SNP MSP has opposed new drilling in the North Sea.

His comments reveal that the SNP still don’t support our oil and gas industry, with many of their MSPs happy to consign thousands of jobs in the North East to the scrap heap.

The Scottish Conservatives are the only party standing up for our oil and gas industry by calling for an end to the energy profits levy and for more licences to be granted so we can get Scotland drilling again.

John Swinney is facing more splits over oil and gas after one of his MSPs and former ministers called for two key North Sea drilling projects to be rejected.

A brilliant reminder of the incredible work fishermen are doing every day to remove marine litter and keep our seas cleaner.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in filling the skip — your effort, haul after haul, genuinely makes a difference. Every piece of litter brought ashore helps protect our coastline, our marine life, and our fishing communities.

I have written to the SNP's Education Secretary to invite her to visit Fraserburgh Academy after recently released figures show the extent of incidents recorded at the school since 2023.

In the coming weeks I will be meeting with the headteacher of the Academy and others, to see first hand what positive actions the school is taking and to speak with pupils in the Modern Studies department.

Incidents as have been highlighted are not isolated to the Broch and do not represent the true nature of the school or the town.
