Join a nationwide conversation.

On Thursday 21 May, 7pm, at Cheese and Grain there will be a screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing – a new short film being shown in communities across the UK.

Based on a landmark national event attended by over 1,200 leaders from politics, business, media and more, the film brings together expert insight on the climate and nature crisis – and what it means for communities like ours.

Featuring voices including Chris Packham and Deborah Meaden, it’s a chance to hear clear, honest information and be part of a wider public conversation happening across the country.

Tickets are free (suggested £3 donation to support local climate action) and you can read more and book here: frometowncouncil.gov.uk/the-peoples-emergency-briefing-21-may-2026/

April Frome Hoedown. What a beautiful day, Portway Pavement now has gold roundels on the railings and foliage removed. Many thanks to Jim, Julian, Judith, Howard, Tony, Marian, Herbie, Ali and Shane. Nine people, 2.5 hours and the walk from the train station to town centre is transformed at a cost of 5 small tins of gold metal paint, sugar soap and 5 paint brushes, just under £25. Some paint left, anyone living or working on the High Pavement on st Catherine's Hill want help improving the area?

Zack Polanski, who was elected leader of the Greens in September, has revitalised the party by focusing less on the environment and more on socio-economic issues, such as the war in Gaza and the cost of living
