🚧 A reminder that work to repair an important flood defence structure at Welshmill has started today (1 September) for approximately six weeks.

The Environment Agency is carrying out the repairs to help protect the riverbank from erosion and reduce flood risk in the area. While work is underway there will be a diversion for cyclists and pedestrians as well as temporary traffic lights on Welshmill Bridge.

As of today (1 September), Somerset Council have introduced a new timetable for the 30 Frome town bus service, which now provides a regular Monday to Friday route to Frome Medical Practice.

The new service makes it easier to get to the Medical Practice and Frome Community Hospital by bus, with regular journeys throughout the day.

There will be changes to waste collections over the bank holiday weekend. Please see below for your revised collection day and more info 👇 Somerset Council Waste Services

🗓️ August bank holiday bin collections

A reminder that there will be no recycling or rubbish collections on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August.
This means all collections that week will take place one day later than usual. If your usual collection is on Friday, it will move to Saturday 5 September.
Please put your bins, boxes and bags out on your revised collection day, or the night before.
If you’re recycling more over the bank holiday, please help crews by crushing and flattening items to make extra space in your boxes.
There will be no changes to recycling site opening hours or days.

The Environment Agency is carrying out the repairs to help protect the riverbank from erosion and reduce flood risk in the area.

While work is underway, there will be:
👣 A temporary diversion of the riverside footpath through the nearby play area
🚲 A diversion for cyclists
🚦 Temporary traffic lights on Welshmill Bridge

These essential repairs will help protect the riverbank for years to come. Thank you for your patience while the work is carried out
