Join the Frome Welcome Hub for a powerful film screening this Refugee Week

An Emmy® award-winning documentary, 2000 Meters to Andriivka, will be shown at Frome Town Hall this Friday 19 June, at 7pm.

This moving film explores the human impact of war and displacement, with supportive space for discussion afterwards.

⚽ Tonight is the first England game in the Men’s World Cup and many people will be coming together to enjoy the matches, whether that’s at home, in the pub, or out with friends.

We’re proud to be White Ribbon accredited and to stand against violence against women and girls. White Ribbon UK has created a free Match Day Toolkit, full of simple, practical ways we can all play a part, from looking out for one another to knowing how to safely step in if something doesn’t feel right.

It includes:
• Tips on being a safe and effective bystander
• Resources for venues and community spaces
• Posters and graphics to help spread the message
• Information on support services

Hosted by Frome Skatepark Project and Frome Town Council, this special screening is raising funds for a new skatepark at Mary Baily Playing Field, helping create space for future generations of skaters right here in Frome.

Frome Town Council and Frome Town AFC have agreed a two-year lease for Badgers Hill Stadium and clubhouse.

This agreement facilitates vital improvement works at the site, settles rent arrears and other debts and ensures league champions Frome Town AFC can compete in the forthcoming season in the Southern League at Badgers Hill, the team’s home for more than a century, while also preserving the facilities for varied community use.

Chair and Leader of FTC, Cllr Fiona Barrows, said:

“Since 2022, Frome Town Council has worked consistently and proactively to secure a sustainable long-term future for football at Badgers Hill. We have remained committed to finding a workable solution, making significant concessions along the way to keep football at the ground. It hasn’t been easy, so we are pleased – and relieved – to have reached this stage, providing stability for football and community at Badgers Hill, and enabling vital improvements to the site, including the boiler and changing room facilities.”

There's a brand new exhibition on the town hall noticeboards this week, marking .

Ukrainian artist Olha Ivanenko has lived in Frome since leaving Kharkiv in 2022 and you may recognise her from working with children in our Welcome Hub. Pop in between 9 and 5 this week (4.30pm on Friday) to look at some of her beautiful paintings.

🎹🎸🎤Saturday 13 June saw the welcome return of Frome Busks!

This annual pop-up music event hosted by Frome College and Selwood Academy, supported by Frome Town Council has become a staple of the Frome calendar.

Musicians worked their way around stages at Frome Library, Black Swan Arts, Stony Street, Cheap Street, Westway, the Cheese and Grain and Boyle Cross.
