🚘🚗CLASSIC CARS🚗🚘

On Sunday 21st June we see the return of the Lincs and Louth Motor Club with their beautiful array of vintage and classic vehicles.

They will be parked on our grounds between 10 and 4, meaning you can see them all day. View the vehicles and talk to their proud owners, then treat yourself to a drink and sweet treat in our café!

There is no need to buy tickets for this event as it takes place outside in the grounds, but what better excuse to make a full day of it and visit the Hall too!! Prebook online and save 15% on gate tickets. Or upgrade to a full English Heritage membership for free access to 400+ sites all year round.

Remember, if you're not sure what to get dad, stepdad, grandad or like a dad, the LLMC visit falls on Father's Day so bring them along for the ride 😉

🗣SPOTLIGHT TALK🗣

Join us tomorrow (June 10th) at 1pm for another interesting spotlight talk.

You've probably heard of our 'grey lady' who is said to walk the corridors in our East Range. The most probable figure behind this character is Elizabeth Burgh. So join our volunteer for a short talk about this lady and her story.

Spotlight talks are short 15-20 minute chats focusing on set subjects. A great way to add to your visit and are included in your admission ticket. This one takes place upstairs in our Assembly Rooms.

💙VOLUNTEERS WEEK🧡

Rounding up on volunteers' week with another long service award. This time for-*checking notes*-a guy named Rick? Not sure we're familiar with him? 🤔

Rick has given many tours, guides and chats over the years with his endless experience. He has delved further into chosen subjects, most notably with the medieval graffiti he is now famous for. His talents don't end there. He provides us with handmade art pieces, cards and protection mark related items for extra donation sales.

As we round up volunteers week we must emphasise how much we appreciate ALL of our volunteers over the years for all they do. But having multiple long service awards this week just shows how much they get from it themselves, they stay because they are passionate and enjoy their time in their chosen area.

So to Rick and all of our volunteers , THANK YOU!!!! 🫂

💙🧡THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS🧡💙

Our little team is made all the more by the volunteers who support us and The Hall.

There is such a range of people who give their time to help both behind the scenes and to enhance visitor experience. We have our 'regulars' who come the same days every week, there are the ones who we can rely on for certain days like our group or educational visits, and those who come when they have a spare few hours once a month. Regardless of what they do, we appreciate all of them.

During our 2 year funded project we were able to create and take on more designated roles, running vital aspects for the project like oral history and exhibition research. Though this project is now over and those roles put on a shelf, we have had multiple stay with us where they can.

Visitors often say how much more they have learnt from our explainer and guides, whether that be through spotlight talks, tours or simple snippets throughout a friendly chat.

Of course we have our amazing make and mend group who had blessed us with more costumes for visitors to use during visits and also helped Father Christmas with his outfit! They treat us on event days to costumed gold work too, a delicate craft with beautiful results.

Garden volunteers join the Brodsworth team to tend to our flowerbeds, weeding, watering and replanting during the rejuvenation. They are very protective of their work, even coming more regularly last week and at 'unsociable' hours to help keep the plants watered.

DeMowbray's have become official volunteers now too, joining our roster with their seemingly endless knowledge and talent. They entertain us and educate us, set days to coincide with schools so that the children can get an added bonus on their visits, and of course join us for events as a traditional soundtrack.

Our volunteers are invaluable - even 'clicking people in' on event days for final numbers - and always will be. They keep coming even when they don't have to and bring so much with them, for visitors and ourselves. So for volunteers' week, and always THANK YOU to our dedicated volunteers (past & present) for all you do! 🫂🫂🫂

🧡VOLUNTEERS' WEEK💙

Another long service award handed over yesterday to Pauline! Always helpful and great as a back up with our school visits, reorganising the costumes and clear up. A great extra pair of hands on event days, valuable when we have so much going on.

To all our volunteers and Pauline, this week and always...THANK YOU! 🫂

💙VOLUNTEERS' WEEK🧡

As usual, we are ALWAYS grateful for our amazing team of volunteers. And this week gives us the chance to highlight just how much they do for us.

Starting off. We have a few 'Long Service' awards to hand out.

Meet Nick. One of those who have stuck with us and has a true passion for Gainsborough Old Hall, and history and knowledge in general. Always with a smile, it is very rare to have a day working with him and not end the shift knowing something new!

To Nick and our many other volunteers...THANK YOU!!! 🫂
