⭐ VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITY – INTEREST LINK ⭐

Want to increase your skill set, boost your CV, or have something positive to talk about at college, university or job interviews?

🙌 Volunteering is a fantastic way to gain experience, build confidence and develop valuable employability skills – and it is highly valued by employers, colleges and universities.

Interest Link Borders are currently looking for volunteers to support their evening sessions at Burnfoot Hub, Hawick.

📅 When? Every second Tuesday evening, 6pm to 8pm.
👥 Who with? A befriending group for young people aged 16–25
🎭 What will you do? Support the group with activities, socialising and projects – often working towards putting on a live drama performance.

This could be a brilliant opportunity to develop skills such as:

⭐ Communication
⭐ Teamwork
⭐ Confidence
⭐ Leadership
⭐ Creativity
⭐ Working with others

Interest Link Borders

A massive thank you to Borders Competitions !

A little story that made my day ❤️

Earlier this year, Jack Keightley, one of our amazing Borders Competitions community, got in touch to tell me about Interest Link Borders and the brilliant work they do across the Scottish Borders.

They provide befriending and social support for people with learning disabilities and young people with autism, helping build friendships, confidence and connections in the community.

Jack attends the group himself and spoke so highly of everyone there that I decided to donate £500 to help support the work they do.

Fast forward to today and Jack invited me along to join them on one of their outings. It was so nice to finally meet everyone, have a chat and see first-hand what a lovely group it is.

And to top it all off, Jack even brought me Empire biscuits my favourite 😂❤️

Sometimes it’s the little things that make your day.

A huge thank you to Jack for introducing me to Interest Link Borders, and to everyone there for making me feel so welcome. Keep up the amazing work ❤️
