361 Gateshead Air Cadets

361 has made it to the VEX national finals for the 2nd year in a row!

We competed in qualifiers and despite many mechanical challenges finished our final game of the pushback season

We got to meet Al Lewis and celebrate the joining 361 and 1313 for season 3

As the VEX National Finals were held at National Air and Space Camp, we had to take the opportunity to show our robot some aircraft

They're a little late, but we wanted to share the pictures taken at our most recent Passing Out Parade for Intake 19.

Congratulations to the 6 cadets who completed their first class training and are now officially a part of 361 Sqn! 🎉

We'll be having our next intake in September, so if your child is aged 12+ or in year 8, and wants to try something a little bit different, please reach out!

Cadet P, Cadet D and Cadet A managed to snag their blue radio badges this week - well done to them for the achievement. 🎉

Blue Radio gives you an introduction to using a radio, including callsigns, the phonetic alphabet, and how to safely and securely transmit information. A valuable skill!

Today, on Armed Forces Day, we recognise and thank the people who make up our Armed Forces community - serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadet force adult volunteers, and military families. 👏

At 361 Gateshead, we are proud to support and develop young people through the values of service, respect, discipline and teamwork. We also recognise the dedication of our amazing adult volunteers who give their time to inspire the next generation.

Ten cadets took on Derwent Country Park at the weekend, covering 15km on foot as part of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award practice.

Brilliant effort from all of them! 🧭
