An inspirational father will take on the iconic Great North Run this September in memory of his late wife 🏃❤️

Kelly Hashemi, wife of Arya and mother to Tabitha, sadly passed away at St Bede’s Palliative Care Unit after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Arya, who has already raised an incredible £5,555 for St Bede’s, will step up to the start line this September ready to give everything 👊

A huge thank you to George Herbert, who came to our Chemo Day Unit on Wednesday to hand over a cheque for over £2,000 💙

George raised the money at a fundraising day at Hexham Golf Club on behalf of his wife Christina, who has successfully completed her chemotherapy treatment.

Support Faye Collins as she takes on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge! ⛰️

On 30 August 2026, Faye is walking 24 miles across iconic three mountains, all in under 12 hours 👊

On her challenge, Faye said: “I’m raising money for St Bede’s at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, who cared for my dad with incredible compassion in his final weeks.

"It's nearly the two year anniversary since his passing, I’ll be walking in his memory every step of the way.

"If you can donate or share, you’ll help other families receive the same care we did and honour a wonderful husband, dad and grandad."
