Gateshead Council has a well established Fostering Service, with many years experience of placing children with families. We provide support to families who are thinking about fostering by offering advice and training. We also provide ongoing support to families who have foster with us. We have children waiting for a family through fostering and are keen to hear from people who would consider cari
ng for them. Our House Rules
This is the official page for Gateshead Council Fostering Service. We operate this page during office hours Monday to Friday and will on occasions post messages outside of office hours. We want you to be part of our Facebook community as it is really important to us to let you know about your local fostering service and the difference it makes to your communities. We would love you to join in our conversations as your comments and sharing of our posts are important for the success of this page, and will help us to improve our service of this page and services within the borough. Our basic house rules below explain what we will and will not tolerate on our page. Legal responsibility is yours
Once your comment is online it’s public and everyone with internet access can read it. You are legally responsible for what you submit. Keep it clean
We don’t want swearing or rude comments on our page. If you’re rude or offensive we will remove your comments. This includes racist, sexist, sexually explicit, homophobic or otherwise offensive remarks. We also reserve the right to remove comments that are likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others. Keep it focussed
We want to use this page to tell you about Gateshead Council and our partners, and the work our staff carry out on your behalf. Monitoring the page can be time consuming so we need to make sure the discussion stays focused. If we feel that you are trying to detract from our message, or dominate it with your own concerns that are not relevant to the majority of other people, we may delete your post. Repeat offenders may be barred from our page. Bullying or harassment
We won’t tolerate any form of bullying, harassment or victimisation on our page, whether it’s of other users or of Gateshead Council staff. Please inform us if you feel people are using our page to bully or intimidate you and we will remove the offending comments and will prevent that person from posting any more such material. Facebook also offers advice and help to people who feel they are being bullied. Type in the word ‘bullying’ to Facebook’s Help Centre for further information and advice: https://www.facebook.com/help/
Comments about the organisation and those who run it
If you’re offensive about the organisation, or anyone who works for us, or runs the organisation, we may remove your comments. Comments that are likely to bring the organisation into disrepute will be removed. False identities
If it’s clear you are impersonating someone else, or using a fake identity, then you are breaking Facebook’s rules and we will remove any content you’ve posted and may block you from our page. Spam
If you spam our page we will delete it and may ban persistent spammers. Spam detracts from the messages we and others who use our page are trying to communicate and can spoil other peoples’ experiences of using our page. Confidentiality
Please don’t share any confidential or private information on our Facebook. For example, you mustn’t share the phone number, email address or other contact details of any other person. Political comments during the pre-election period
Any comments of a political nature which promote political parties during a pre-election ‘purdah’ period will be removed. Report abuse
If you are offended by a user's post please report it to Facebook. If you would like us to remove it, please contact us at [email protected] and we will look into the issue. Removing content – what will we do? We don't want to have to remove any content, but we will do if it breaks any of the general rules listed. If you do not stick to our house rules, we will use the following steps:
• If we need to delete posts, where necessary, we will try to explain why we’ve done so.
• We may ban you from using our page
If you have any questions in relation to these rules, contact us at [email protected]
