YES! The Strand Pool is now open. Newly painted and with some new decoration. It will be open every weekend until the school holidays when it will be open 7 days a week (unless the weather is extremely bad) until the end of the school holidays. You do need to book ahead, link in the previous posting.
There are lockers on site and changing rooms. Prices also in the image in the previous posting.
Bring a picnic and your own inflatables, but as you can see from the image on the previous post, inflatables can be bought on site too.
On busy days the kiosk is open selling drinks and food, you can also (the staff will give you a wrist band to regain entry) pop out to the cafe to get one of their delicious ice-creams.
New for this year is the arrival of a really fantastic Splash Pad, next to the lido pool, for the under 10s. The Splash pad is great fun and is already a huge success. It is free and no need to book
Also at The Strand are the newly refurbished tennis courts, a new picnic area and, of course, the little train.

The little train can be booked at the cafe.
Not forgetting the playgrounds and a walk along the River Medway.
So before, or after, your booked session at the pool there is plenty to do. You do need to book your session at the lido in advance whether a member or a guest, but it is already open for next weekend.
For those who have not been to The Strand Lido before it was opened in 1896 and is the only remaining riverside tidal saltwater pool in the country. It is salt water and is unheated.
HAPPY SWIMMING!
The Strand in Gillingham is open to all for family fun and swimming.
