We’ve had a busy week with our P7s visiting us for three days. They did brilliantly with great comments from our teachers. Very positive feedback from the P7s- they didn’t want to go back to their Primaries for the last couple of weeks!

The Senior Support and Wellbeing group took part in the YPI (Youth Philanthropy Initiative) in Ayr Town Hall and presented about their recent Duff Street Kitchen project.
They won £3000 for Duff Street!!! Beyond fabulous.

Well done to our team of senior boys who represented the school at the 5-aside White Ribbon Cup in Townhead Park Cumnock. This Police Scotland organised event had teams from across Ayrshire and had a focus on raising awareness of the responsibilities of young men to end mistreatment and violence against women and girls. Our boys were a credit to the school!

Tomorrow’s is officially the last day of our S6 in Girvan Academy. We wish them every success for the future.

We said goodbye to S6 today. There was a football match between a Staff Team and a Leavers Team, then a BBQ when S6 were joined by teachers (a water slide also made an appearance!).
Our best wishes S6 for a bright and successful future.

Great work from the Support and Wellbeing Team!

We would like to say a huge thank you to Girvan Academy Health and Wellbeing group for running a lunch group on a Wednesday. Unfortunately this has now come to an end but we wish them all the very best for their next venture! Today they presented our trustees Pete and Andrew with a cheque for £327.10 for our funds. This was gratefully received. 😊 thanks again.

Some of our S6 have been making a film in collaboration with The Iris Ayr film company and the Action Against Stalking. The film will be used in schools and educational settings.
