Today marks the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landings.
On 6 June 1944, Allied forces launched Operation Overlord, beginning the liberation of Western Europe. Among those who served were Royal Signals units, whose role was to provide and maintain the communications networks essential to coordinating the complex multinational operation under combat conditions.
Operating radios, laying cable and maintaining links between commanders and forward elements, signallers enabled effective command and control throughout the landings and subsequent advance.

51 Signal Regiment which 23 years later became one of the founding elements of our own Regiment landed on D Day+2.

In recognition of their contribution, and in honour of all who served, Corporal Graeme Bell performs “Hieland Laddie” as an act of commemoration at Garelochhead, an area heavily used in training troops in secret ahead of the landings in Normandy.

We will remember them.

May the 4th Be With You! 🌌📡

In 32 Signal Regiment, we know that whether you’re in a galaxy far, far away or just on a rainy weekend in the UK, communication is everything.

From the deserts of Tatooine to the forests of Endor, even the best Jedi would be lost without a secure signal. While we haven't quite mastered the art of holographic transmissions yet, our Signallers are busy mastering the next best thing: world-class tactical communications and data resilience.

Why we’d give the Rebels a run for their money:
Reliable Links: We don’t let a little "interstellar interference" stop the message.

Tactical Edge: Faster than a TIE Fighter, more precise than a Stormtrooper’s aim.

Versatility: We operate across the UK and beyond, ensuring the chain of command stays connected.

Whether you’re a Padawan looking for a new challenge or a seasoned veteran of the comms world, there’s a place for you in the Army Reserve.

Join the Force. Join 32 Sig Regt. Come and see us on our open night in Glasgow on 19th May at 1930 (7.30 pm)
