A new self-guided walking trail of Gloucester is launching this Saturday at St. Michael's Tower on the Cross! Come along between 10am-2pm to collect your free map and discover fascinating heritage sites you've passed but never noticed.

From Roman roots to medieval merchants, from dockside industry to the communities that shape it today, Gloucester's stories are written into the streets, buildings and spaces all around you.

Local organisations including Gloucester Civic Trust have come together to create four carefully designed routes to help you uncover the city at your own pace, one story at a time. Civic Trust volunteers will be on hand throughout the day to help you choose a route, share local insights and get you started.

After the launch, the free map will be available from venues across the city. So pick up a map, step outside and start exploring!

This Volunteers' Week, we're paying homage to our incredible team of volunteers! We absolutely couldn't open our doors, show people round, deliver our activities, run our events, have a tranquil garden to sit in or delicious food to eat from our cafe without volunteers. We are indebted to each and every one of you for your kindness, dedication, and generosity. We thank you sincerely.

These photos show just a few of our volunteers, but there are many more whose hard work we couldn't do without. You know who you are!
