MEET OUR MANAGERS!!
💥WHO ARE WE💥

The journey of Within Reach began in 2020 initially registering with CQC to help during the COVID pandemic offering support and accommodation options to individuals age 16+ with complex needs.

Then in 2021 there was a change in legislation and all children under the age of 16 looked after by local authority were required to live in regulated placements (Ofsted registered children's homes). Within Reach were asked by commissioners to consider applying to become a social care provider for children, we tentatively made the application and first became registered for children's services in January 2022 since then we have opened 7 children's homes on the Gloucestershire area and continued with our CQC service which offers support and accommodation to young adults.

💥BIG WELCOME TO ABBY💥

Abby began her work with children with complex learning disabilities as a teenager in a voluntary capacity, a passion that continued through roles in community youth work and Special Educational Needs (SEN) education. She later worked within the Local Authority, supporting families of children with complex medical, physical, and learning needs.

Abby started her career in Residential Childcare as a Support Worker and progressed to the role of Registered Manager. In this position, she further developed her expertise in Trauma-Informed Practice, Attachment Theory, and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).

She has extensive experience supporting children with complex learning disabilities, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB), and those requiring high staffing ratios to ensure their safety.

Abby holds a BSc in Psychology, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, and is currently working towards her Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare Management. She is deeply committed to the PACE model and trauma-informed approaches, embedding these principles into all aspects of her work to create meaningful and lasting positive change in children’s lives.

Abby is passionate about placing children at the centre of their care, ensuring their voices are heard and valued. She prioritises fostering an empowering environment where staff feel confident to make decisions and take initiative, enabling children to feel safe, supported, and secure in the adults around them.

Drivers Licence💥
✨You do not need a drivers licence to be able to apply for a role with us.
✨Although it’s preferred being a driver is not a necessity. We ask if you have a licence so that we know if you can drive our service cars or not, but also as a member of our team if you do drive you get given a parking permit to be able to park on roads and around our service areas!!
