FosteringMatters is a small family run independent fostering agency which was established in 2004. Our head office is in Gloucester and we support foster carers in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Bristol, Warwickshire, Telford, Staffordshire, Liverpool, Manchester and surrounding areas. We have been placing children in carefully matched and fully supported foster homes across England since Septem

ber 2004. We provide foster placements that produce positive outcomes for children and enriching experiences that also financially benefit our foster carers. As a FosteringMatters foster carer, you will receive our excellent support services and the comprehensive and ongoing training we provide. All FosteringMatters carers and staff are required to participate in initial and ongoing training. We recognise It is essential for carers to continually improve their levels of knowledge and ability. Therefore, we provide regular face to face support groups, training sessions and access to 24 hour online training and support. Fun

Breaking down the myths of fostering!
You have to be married to foster
Busted: Single people can foster. You can be single, married, divorced, or in a long-term partnership.

You have to own your home
Busted: people foster who rent or have mortgages.

I am too old to foster
Busted: You must be over 21-there is no upper age limit.

You have to be a stay at home parent
Busted: -Many foster carers work outside of the home.

Having my own children means I can’t foster
Busted: Many fostering families have biological children.

I have no children means I can’t foster
Busted: Individuals and partnerships without children can foster.

You have to live in a big house.
Busted: You need a bedroom that is dedicated to a foster child.
