Don’t forget the annual parish meeting is on Wednesday, it would be great to see as many people there as possible.

🪥🪴 Great news for gardeners and, um, anyone with teeth 😁

You can now throw your plastic plant pots and empty toothpaste tubes straight into your green recycling bin or bag!

That means even more of your everyday bits can be recycled from home as part of the national Simpler Recycling changes. And if each of us gets through about six toothpaste tubes a year, that’s more than 750,000 tubes we could keep out of the bin across Stroud district.

You already get weekly food waste, household battery and v**e collections, plus fortnightly recycling for tins, cans, glass, paper and card. So this is just another step towards making recycling easier and more consistent for everyone.

And coming up next? Kerbside collections for plastic film and wrapping by March 2027. More details when we have them!

Cllr Martin Pearcy sums it up perfectly: “These changes make it even easier for people to do the right thing and help us all move towards a cleaner, greener future.”

✅ What you can put in your recycling from home:
• Plastic bottles
• Pots, tubs and trays (yogurt pots, margarine tubs, punnets, clear food trays)
• Toothpaste tubes
• Non‑black plastic plant pots

❌ What can’t go in:
• Cling film, carrier bags, biscuit and crisp packets, pouches
• Blister packs
• Black plant pots
• Polystyrene and bubble wrap

Recycling pro tips:
• Give containers a quick rinse to keep things fresh
• Squash or cut down cardboard so it fits neatly
• Pop your bins out by 6am on collection day

Not sure about something? Our Waste Wizard will tell you exactly what to do with it: https://www.stroud.gov.uk/wastewizard

Thanks for recycling - you’re helping make Stroud district cleaner and greener every week 💚🌍
