Are you ready for flood season? With the potential impacts of this year’s El Niño, it’s more important than ever to be prepared.

Around 6.3 million homes and businesses in England are at risk of flooding, but many people are unaware of this risk and are unprepared. Preparing before a flood and knowing what to do if one happens is incredibly important and can help reduce its impact.
As part of Flood Action Week, we wanted to introduce Flood Action Online. This handy tool provides everything you need to know to help you understand flooding and prepare for the season ahead. If the bank is full, please don't leave bags, clothing or other items beside it. This creates litter, attracts pests and costs money to clear up.

Anyone caught fly-tipping could face a fine or prosecution.

📚 As part of the National Year of Reading, people across Gloucestershire are discovering the benefits of reading, learning and community activities at their local library.

More than 913,000 library visits have been recorded so far this year, with 1.2 million books borrowed and almost 15,000 new members joining. Gloucestershire Libraries also welcomed more than 6,700 children to this summer's Library Challenge, helping inspire a lifelong love of reading. ❤️📖

Recognise the signs of modern slavery this Anti-Slavery Week and help keep those in our communities safe. If someone is:

• frightened, anxious or controlled by others,
• has little freedom to come and go as they choose,
• lives or works in poor conditions,
• cannot access their own identity documents or earnings,

they might be a victim of modern slavery. If you think someone could be a victim you can:
