Carers Corner: Friday Favourites

This week, we’re celebrating the joy of gardening!

September is a great time to get planting and prepare your garden for the seasons ahead. From spring-flowering bulbs to garlic and winter salad leaves, there’s still plenty to grow.

Gardening can be a wonderful way to enjoy some fresh air, stay active and take a little time for yourself. Even if you only have a windowsill or a few pots, you can still enjoy the benefits of growing something.

Let us know in the caption what you're planting this September?

August Bank Holiday Wellbeing Checklist

The bank holiday weekend is a great opportunity to pause, take a breath and make a little time for you.

Whether it’s enjoying some fresh air, catching up with someone you love, taking time for a hobby or simply enjoying a quiet cup of tea - small moments of self-care can make a big difference.

And remember, you don’t have to do everything alone. Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

Save this checklist as a reminder to look after yourself this bank holiday weekend.

Carers Corner: Friday Favourites
A weekly series sharing simple ways to support your wellbeing.

This week: Mindfulness & Meditation

Caring for others can be busy and demanding - so taking even a minute for yourself can make a real difference.
Pause for a moment.
Take a deep breath in… and slowly out.
Let your shoulders soften.
Just be present.

You don’t need lots of time - just a small moment to reset.

Save this for when you need a quick pause

Rachel is one of the friendly faces in our Care at Home team, supporting people across Gloucestershire to live independently in the place they know best.

We asked Rachel a few questions so you can get to know her a little better, from what inspired her to work in care to what she enjoys most about her role.

Thank you for all your hard work, Rachel! 💛

Method
1. Slice or shred the chicken
2. Chop avocado, tomatoes & cucumber
3. Add everything to a bowl with salad leaves
