Arniston Playgroup Arniston Playgroup are a non for profit Childcare service offering day care sessions and a wrap-a-round lunch service inside Stobhill Primary School.

Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) preference form for places from August 2026 to July 2027.
Please use the link to complete the form if:

• Your child already attends a Midlothian ELC setting and you wan to change the days they attend.
• Your child already attends an ELC setting and you want to move them to a different council setting for August 2026.
• Your child becomes entitled to funded ELC during the 2026/27 academic year and you would like them to attend a Midlothian ELC setting.

If your child already attends a council setting and you do not want to make any changes to attendance then you not need to complete this form.

This form closes on 30 April 2026.

We will let parents and carers know where they have been allocated a place in late May or early June.

UPDATE ON MONDAY 17 NOVEMBER
Apologies, technical issues means that online placing requests will be now be available from 9am on Tuesday 18 November.

All Placing Requests are reviewed in accordance with the Admissions to Primary and Secondary School Policy. This delay will not affect the outcome as requests received before the national cut off date are decided at the same time.

PARENTS/CARERS of children due to start P1 or S1 August 2026
Parents/carers will be able to register online from 9am on Monday 17 November 2025 for August 2026 intake.
Parents/carers will also be able to submit deferral requests online from 9am on Monday 17 November 2025 for August 2026 intake.
Parents/carers will be able to make a Placing Request online from 9:00 am on Tuesday 18 November 2025 for August 2026 intake.
Please note: All Placing Requests submitted are reviewed in accordance with the Admissions to Primary and Secondary School Policy.
This delay will not affect the outcome as requests received before the national cut-off date are decided at the same time.

IS YOUR CHILD DUE TO START PRIMARY OR SECONDARY SCHOOL IN AUGUST 2026?
If your child/children are due to start P1 or S1 August 2026 intake, please make sure your child’s/children’s address details are up to date.
To ensure your details are correct, please contact your child’s/children’s early learning setting or primary school directly.
If you have moved recently and do need to update your child’s/children’s address details you must provide acceptable proof of residency as listed below:
Acceptable Proof of Residency
• Council Tax letter – Current tax year
• Gas, electric or telephone landline bill – within the last 3 months
• Tenancy Agreement, which must be signed and dated by tenant/s and landlord (accepted 4 weeks before entry date)
• Scottish Government Benefit letter
• MOD Assignment Order and March-In date letter
Not accepted as Proof of Residency
• Solicitors’ letters
• Concluded Missives
• Plot reservation letters/documents
• Court Letters
• Witness Citations
• Electoral Letters / Voting Cards
• Bank Statements
• Household Insurance documents
• Hospital Letters
