While out litter picking over the weekend, I came across this shocking mess left behind at Bridgemary Park.
Not only is leaving commercial firework boxes and litter behind completely unacceptable and unfair to our community, but it is also illegal to let off fireworks in public parks and open spaces.
Under UK law, members of the public are strictly prohibited from setting off or throwing fireworks in streets, public parks, or any other public land without a proper license. Doing so poses a severe fire hazard, disturbs local residents and pets, and leaves dangerous debris where children and families play.
I’ve cleaned up this fly-tipping and bagged up the litter.
If you witness anti-social behavior or illegal fireworks being let off in our public spaces, please report it to the police or the council.
Let’s work together to keep Bridgemary safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.

With the clocks going back an hour next weekend, it's a great time to make sure you and your loved ones are prepared for the darker, colder months ahead.
Did you know about the Priority Services Register (PSR)? It’s a free, confidential service provided by SSE that offers extra help to vulnerable, disabled, or elderly people in the event of a power cut.
Please note: You must be registered in advance to access this priority help.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this support, make sure to sign up today!

This is a free service for customers who’d benefit from extra support before, during and after a power cut.

📚 Last night, some of our local Councillors had the pleasure of attending the book launch event for Suella Braverman!
It was a fantastic evening, highlighted by an engaging Question & Answer session where members of the public shared their thoughts, ideas, and feedback. Afterwards, our Councillors spent some time chatting directly with Suella to discuss local priorities and insights from the event.
Such an interesting discussion and insight into parliament!
