🐻TEDDY BEAR DAY 🐻

Did you know today is Teddy Bear Day and here at Gosport Discovery Centre Bookstart Bear has set up a tea party for all his cuddly teddy friends.

National Teddy Bear Day honours the history of one of childhood's favourite toys. We have all had a special cuddly teddy as a child.
Some of us still have our teddy bear from our childhood.
No matter what kind of teddy bear you had, today is a perfect time to celebrate your childhood friend!

You can celebrate Teddy Bear Day in a number of ways:

By giving a Teddy Bear to someone you love.

Donating some well loved Teddy Bears to a local organization for children.

Or even hosting your own Teddy Bear tea party with your children.

Look out for Bookstart Bear at our next Story Time on Saturday 12th September where we shall be having a Makaton session to the book Animal Boogie!

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN, WE ARE DOING IT ALL AGAIN!!!!

Come along and join the fun at our Storytime Special with Makaton signing.
Put on your dancing shoes and help Lorna & Theresa follow the jungle animals as they shake, swing, stomp, flap, leap, slither and sway their way through The Animal Boogie.
Free drop-in but tickets are required as spaces are
limited.
Tickets can be collected on the day from the Ground
Floor help desk at Gosport Discovery Centre.

We can hardly believe that this year's Summer Reading Challenge is nearly over, so if you still have a few stickers to collect you have until the 12TH SEPTEMBER (next Saturday) to complete it. We want to get as many children as possible with completed cards and medals and certificates in hands, so ask a member of staff if you are struggling to complete it!

📚September's National Year of Reading has the prompt of Your Favourite Author and here at Gosport Discovery Centre we will be showcasing our Friday Fav's
This week Gemma has chosen to shine a light on her favourite author Heidi Swain.

📚"Heidi's books are like a cosy breath of fresh air. If you are wanting a comfortable village setting and characters that make you want to move in immediately pick up one of Heidi's books.
My favourite is her debut book The Cherry Tree Café and I'm currently reading The Holiday Escape, it's pure escapism!

📚Gosport Discovery Centre currently have titles available and others can be ordered via Borrowbox and our reservation system.
