THE HOLKER FATHER'S DAY BURGER & BEER SPECIAL- BECAUSE HE'S WORTH IT (no need to book)!

Celebrate Father’s Day in the fabulous outdoor setting of the Courtyard Café with our special Wild Boar & Damson Burger, topped with cheese, fruity chutney and pickled cucumber, served in a warm ciabatta with seasoned skin-on fries and a pint of Fell Brewery Golden Ale.

Bring your favourite father figure along, or simply join us for a relaxed lunch, coffee and cake in the Courtyard.

No booking needed – simply turn up, find a table and enjoy a relaxed afternoon in a beautiful setting. He deserves it!

The Summer Solstice is Sunday, and our wildflower meadow is looking it's very best.

After traditional cutting and grazing, these grasslands are now alive with wildflowers, including beautiful orchids hidden among the grasses.

What happens when two adventurers decide to canoe around Ireland?

Join us on Thursday 9th July for Supper & Stories with Richard Ensoll and Johan Hoving as they share the remarkable story of circumnavigating Ireland in a canoe inspired by traditional construction methods.

From coastal communities and unexpected encounters to adventure, resilience, and storytelling, this promises to be an inspiring evening of tales from the water.

Supper includes Catalan chicken – Slow cooked chicken thighs with chorizo, aubergine, courgettes, peppers and red onion in rich tomato sauce enriched with smoked paprika, wine and balsamic vinegar, served with rice.

We had a wonderful time at our recent jewellery making workshop, hosted by Creative Ewe.

Participants got imaginative, learned new skills, and crafted their own beautiful, handmade pieces in a relaxed and inspiring setting. It was fantastic to see so many unique designs come to life!

A big thank you to Creative Ewe for leading such an enjoyable and engaging workshop, and to everyone who joined us.

A living piece of botanical history for Holker Hall & Gardens.

Watch as, Will Frank, a member of our gardening team plants the new Paulownia tree gifted to Holker by Tony Kirkham MBE, renowned arboriculturist.

Known for its spectacular spring flowers, impressive growth rate, and rich history, this Paulownia was once thought to be extinct and is a remarkable addition to our collection.

We look forward to watching it thrive for generations to come.

From carefully lifting and storing our 'Cafe Au Lait' Dahlia tubers over winter to replanting them in their new home this spring, it's been exciting to watch their journey unfold with blooms expected mid-summer.

Despite the rainy and windy weather, our gardeners don't stop, they have rehomed our Dalhias ready for the summer season.

With moisture-retaining mulch, a cats cradle support system, and plenty of care from our gardening team, they're now growing stronger every day. We can't wait to see the blooms to come!
