Grantham Police The neighbourhood policing page for Grantham and surrounding areas. This Page is not monitored 24/7. Do not report crime here. Call 999 in emergencies only.

Report crime or make a complaint online at https://www.lincs.police.uk/ or call 101. We reserve the right to remove comments and block you if we feel you offend, intimidate, hurt, or deliberately provoke specific people or groups of people. We welcome open debate; we welcome free speech that allows you to articulate their opinions without fear of retaliation. But we do not welcome discourse from a

nyone who does not respect and live by those same principles. We live in a society where freedom of speech is a right, but if you abuse that right you can expect to be sanctioned. If anything you post tips the balance towards hate speech – this is defined as anything public that expresses hate or encourages violence towards a person or group based on something such as race, religion, age, s*x, nationality, ethnicity, disability, or s*xual orientation – or that post anything that threatens, incites, or encourages hatred or violence in any way, we may record this as a crime and investigate you in the same way we would as if this had happened on the street. Be aware of what you post, be mindful of how others may receive it, and, above all, be kind to one another. Thank you. We continue to receive reports of rogue traders in our area
Fraud is a very common issue that we all have to deal with and there are a range of types of fraud used by criminals. Doorstep sellers and rogue traders are working in our communities and we advise you not to engage with sellers or contractors who come to your home unannounced.
If someone approaches your home to offer work or point out work that they believe you need to have done, then we advise you to find a reputable company who can come and give you a legitimate quote to carry out that work. Rogue traders will charge you a large amount for a small amount of work – or will complete the work to a very poor standard. A genuine company should not put you under pressure to make an immediate decision.
Always research a company that is coming to work on your property.

As we are due to have a period of hot weather, we expect to see an increase in reports of young people swimming in open water. Although this is not encouraged, we are aware that a range of ages enjoy this activity and will continue to do so, despite the dangers it presents. If you know your child goes swimming in the local open water then please make sure they know how to keep themselves safe and what to do in an emergency
• Check for hazards in the water. Remember, tides can rise and fall rapidly
• As a rule of thumb, a jump of 10 metres requires a depth of at least 5 metres
• Never jump whilst under the influence of drink or drugs
• Check for access. It may be impossible to get out of the water
• Consider the risks to yourself and others. Conditions can change rapidly
• Never jump/swim in rivers alone
• Ensure one of your party has a mobile phone to call for help if needed

Witness appeal: Officers were called to Wyndam Park in Grantham after a report of a child with a knife.

Just before 7.20pm on Monday 4 May we received a call reporting a child had been seen with a knife and is alleged to have threatened another person in Wyndham Park, Grantham.

As part of our inquiries we are appealing for anyone who was in the park at the time and may have seen anything connected to this report to get in touch.

The child, described as wearing an NFL dark blue hoody, dark joggers with black high top trainers with white soles and wearing a black skateboard helmet left the park in a blue car.

Two people have been arrested in connection with our investigation, a 13-year-old boy and a 53-year-old woman.

As proceedings are active we have turned off the commenting function to prevent unhelpful speculation.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the Investigating Officer by email at [email protected] or by calling 101. Please refer to incident 401 of 4 May.

07/05/2026

We are aware of ongoing reports of antisocial behaviour involving groups of young people in the town centre over the bank holiday weekend. A number of local businesses have been affected, including the cinema, McDonald’s, shops and takeaways.

We know the vast majority of young people behave responsibly, but incidents of intimidation, disruption, abusive behaviour and disorder can have a significant impact on businesses, staff, customers and other members of the public trying to enjoy the town centre safely.

We would ask parents and guardians to please have a conversation with their children about their behaviour when out with friends, reminding them to be respectful of others and to think about the consequences their actions can have on the community.

Officers will continue to carry out patrols in the area and work closely with local businesses and partners to address concerns. Where offences are identified, appropriate action will be taken.

If you witness antisocial behaviour or have concerns, please report it to us via 101 for non-emergencies or 999 in an emergency so we can take action.

Thank you for your continued support.

We have recently seen several cars and van being broken into in the Grantham area and we're reminding people to make sure vehicles are locked and valuables are removed or placed out of sight.

Reports have been received that vehicles have been targeted on Queensway, Edward Street, Princess Drive, Hudson Way and Tyndal Road, Grantham, since Thursday 30 April.

PC Mark Barr, Community Beat Manager, Grantham Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "We're asking everyone to double check what is left behind in their cars and vans; please take a moment to check what can be seen and take anything valuable out or put it out of sight. Remember what might not be valuable to you at the time, may be of value to someone else; like a jacket or a bag, especially if there are bank cards, mobile phones etc in them.

"Double check to make sure the vehicle is secure. Make sure after unloading the boot you go back and lock the vehicle. It's the things we take for granted and it's easy to overlook.

"Take a mo and double check - it may save your valuables being stolen."

Crime Prevention Advice

We would urge members of the community to take the follow steps to reduce the risk of vehicles being targeted:

Protecting your vehicle
• Lock your vehicle every time, even when parked at home or for short periods.
• Close windows and sunroofs fully before leaving your vehicle.
• Activate car alarms or immobilisers where fitted.

Remove temptation
• Do not leave valuables in your vehicle, including wallets, handbags, laptops, mobile phones, tools, or shopping.
• Remove loose change and other small items that may attract offenders.
• Hide garage remotes and spare keys - never leave them inside the vehicle.
• If valuables must be left inside, lock them in the boot before arriving at your destination.

Park smart
• Park in well lit, well trafficked areas whenever possible.
• At home, use a garage, or park off street if available.
• Position vehicles where they are visible from the house or neighbours’ properties.

Extra steps at home, where applicable
• Ensure garage doors are locked and in good working order.
• Consider security lighting or CCTV around driveways and parking areas.

Report suspicious activity
• Report suspicious behaviour immediately to police via local non emergency or emergency numbers as appropriate.
• If a theft occurs, do not touch the vehicle and report the incident as soon as possible.

In the unfortunate event of discovering a theft, there are a number of ways to report a crime that’s already happened:

• By calling 101
• By logging a report via our website https://www.lincs.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/
• Or reporting anonymously, via the Crimestoppers website: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/forms/give-information-anonymously
• Always call 999 if you witness a crime in progress.

We hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend. Although the weather was a little unsettled, there were several events across our area that we hope were well attended. Our team of PCSOs were out and about over the weekend and chatted to a number of people.
