🎓 Class of 2026 — today we celebrated an important milestone in your Walton journey!

Our year 11 leavers’ assembly was filled with laughter, reflection and plenty of unforgettable moments. From shirt signing and shared memories to special presentations in the Walton Theatre, it was a chance to come together and celebrate the end of this chapter.

This year group has brought plenty of energy, character and moments that we will remember for many years to come. Along the way, they have also shown resilience, friendship and determination as they reached the end of their secondary school journey.

Whether students are moving on to new opportunities or continuing with us at Walton Post 16, we wish the Class of 2026 every success for the future.

Mrs Katie Bagnall, Walton Academy Business Manager and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award lead, had the honour of attending this week’s Gold Award Celebration at the Palace as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award’s 70th anniversary celebrations.

“It was a proud moment to see so many young people recognised for completing their Gold Award through commitment, resilience, teamwork and adventure,” said Mrs Bagnall.

At Walton Academy, students can begin their DofE journey from year 9 — building confidence, developing new skills and taking on challenges that create lasting memories and valuable life experiences.

Here’s to 70 years of inspiring young people to step outside their comfort zones, support others and achieve more through The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

🎧 Exciting things are happening in music at Walton Academy! 🎶

We are proud to be the only school in Lincolnshire selected to pilot a new 10-week DJing programme delivered by the Lincolnshire Music Service.

Our year 7 students are developing a range of musical and creative skills, including scratch techniques, notation, rhythm, and composing their own DJ compilations. The programme will culminate in a live performance where students will showcase what they have learned throughout the project.

This exciting opportunity reflects the broad and evolving music offer available to students at secondary school, giving young people the chance to explore music in new and contemporary ways while building confidence, creativity, and performance skills.

We can’t wait to hear the final performances!
