Hi all,

We’ve had a bit more damage to the library - does anyone know of any hutches or cabinets going spare that we could use?

If so please let me know as I’d love to keep this going for everyone 🤞🤞🤞

Someone opened the library in the night, it rained, and now every book inside is soaked. Very close to giving up..

If anyone would like one of these books to take home, dry out and keep, please come and save one today. Otherwise these are all destined for the recycling bin now as they’ll just go mouldy in there 😢

The little library lives on! 🤩

Thank you so much Sharon Wright for your kind donation of a brand new hutch 🥰 we love ya! And thank you to everyone else who sent links or offered to help, you’re all amazing and it’s so good to know there are good people out there ❤️

So the library is back up and running, and we’ve also had some new book donations too. Come and take a look at what’s inside 👀 there’s something for everyone! 📚

Hi everyone 👋

Unfortunately a little while back someone ‘punched’ the smaller door on the library and even after attempted repair it’s letting the cold and the wet in now 😢
I’m going to try to save as many of the books as I can but sadly some are now beyond help.

Does anyone have another clean hutch or cabinet they no longer need so we can keep the little library going? We’re keeping our eyes open but if you know of any please let us know. We’ve loved having the library here and don’t want it to close yet 💔

They’ll need a hose down and a wipe over as they’ve been outside under the fir trees but feel free to come and take any you’d like 👍

“The trouble with thinking was that, once you started, you went on doing it. And as far as Maurice was concerned, the rats were thinking a good deal too much...”

The Book Fairies are excited for the new film , based on the Terry Pratchett novel - so we are sharing copies of The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents all around the UK this week! Will you be lucky enough to find a copy to read before you see the new film?

This copy is hidden in our little library right here at Bradleigh Books! 👀 let us know if you find it! 🔎

About the book:
Rats! They’re everywhere: in the breadbins, dancing across tabletops, stealing pies from under the cooks’ noses. So what does every town need? A good piper to lure them away.
That’s where Maurice comes in. But he’s only a cat (though one that talks), so although he has the ideas, he needs rats and someone to play the pipe. Who better than the kid to play the pipe? And Dangerous Beans. And Peaches. And Hamnpork (who doesn’t really like what’s been happening since The Change; all a rat leader really needs is to be big and stroppy, thinking is just not his thing). And Darktan. And Sardines. And all the others in the Clan.
Then they arrive in Bad Blintz, which is suffering from a plague of rats, and find there are NO rats anywhere (though the two resident rat catchers seem to have plenty of tails to show, at 50 pence per tail).
Someone else has had ideas, and Maurice is not pleased.
The new film is available in cinemas nationwide AND on Sky Cinema to enjoy at home from 16th December 2022. Enjoy!

“People did look at Maurice when he stalked into the building, but it seemed that in a town beset by rats a cat was quite popular. A man did try to pick him up, but lost interest when Maurice turned and clawed the back of his hand”

Morning everyone! 👋

The suns out and the books are too, come and grab one 📚

REQUEST 📣
Does anyone have a small cabinet or hutch that they’d be happy to donate for us to store the younger kids books in? Now that the Autumn has arrived it’s becoming more difficult to keep them outside in the book sling, so we’re on the lookout for another smaller cabinet. If you have one or you know of anyone selling a cheap one please let us know 🙏 thanks!
