Exciting times! The Summer Reading Challenge is back. The challenge will start on the 4th July. It is a great way to keep the kids reading through the summer holidays. They can collect stickers, recieve a lovely magazine, bookmark, fuzzy gift and will be presented with a certificate and medal at the end. Just sign up at the front desk

Are you aged 13-25? We are looking for young volunteers to help deliver the Summer Reading Challenge between July and September!

Summer Reading Challenge volunteers will work alongside library staff in delivering the Summer Reading Challenge. They will welcome children and parents, give support, praise and encouragement, and do their best to ensure that each child completes the challenge, enjoys the experience and gets maximum benefit from taking part.

It’s an ideal opportunity to improve your UCAS application, enhance your CV, and meet new people!

📢 "Breaking down the barriers" - Anti Social Behaviour Reporting 👇

North Yorkshire Police - Hambleton and North Yorkshire Council initial plan to have regular “surgeries” on a Friday in Great Ayton relating to the increase in ASB in our community.

An initial surgery will be held at Great Ayton Discovery Centre on 29th MAY 2026 - 11am to 2pm.

Further surgeries and frequency will then be planned from then on.

Please share this information with as many people in the village as you can and use this opportunity to report and discuss your concerns.
