Great Baddow Parish Council is seeking funding for new outdoor fitness equipment at Great Baddow Recreation Ground, and we'd like your views.

🌿💚 Green Flag Flying Proudly at Great Baddow Lawn Cemetery 💚🌿

Earlier this year, Great Baddow Parish Council was delighted to achieve the prestigious Green Flag Award for the Lawn Cemetery, recognising the high standards of care, management and maintenance provided at this important community space.

Today, we were pleased to mark this achievement by officially raising the Green Flag on our newly installed flagpole at the cemetery. 🚩

The award reflects the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in caring for the cemetery. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our Grounds Team and to Elm Horticulture, whose expertise and support help ensure the cemetery remains a peaceful, attractive and well-maintained place for residents and visitors alike.

The Green Flag is a symbol of quality and excellence, and we are proud to see it flying at the Lawn Cemetery for all to see.

🚌 Community Transport Survey Extended – Have Your Say! 🚌

Essex County Council has extended its Community Transport User and Awareness Survey until 30 October 2026, giving residents additional time to share their views.

The survey aims to understand how aware people are of community transport services and how these services are used across Essex. Your feedback will help inform future transport planning and support for residents.

Alternatively, paper copies of the survey are available from The Parish Hall and can be collected during normal opening hours.

🌳 FREE TREE GIVEAWAY FOR CHELMSFORD RESIDENTS 🌳

Looking to make your garden a little greener? Chelmsford City Council's annual Tree Giveaway is now open!

This year, 1,200 free trees are available for residents to claim, with a choice of:

🌲 Scots Pine
🌳 Wild Service Tree
🌸 Wild Cherry
🍃 Spindle

Trees will be available to collect in late November as part of National Tree Week.

⚽️ New 3G Pitch Now Complete at Great Baddow Recreation Ground! 🎉

Great Baddow Parish Council is delighted to announce the successful completion of our new 3G artificial grass pitch at the Recreation Ground.

This fantastic new facility provides an all-weather playing surface that can be enjoyed by local sports clubs, teams, community groups and residents throughout the year.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Essex FA for their funding support, which helped make this project possible. Their contribution has enabled us to deliver an excellent sporting facility for the benefit of our community for many years to come.

Whether you're looking for a venue for training sessions, matches or recreational use, the new pitch is now available to hire.

🌿 Petanque Arena Looking Fantastic! 🌿

If you've been passing through the Recreation Ground recently, you may have noticed that the landscaping around the pétanque arena is now complete. Thanks to the hard work of our Grounds Team, the area has been transformed and is looking fantastic.

Why not stop by and take a look? If you're lucky, you might even catch a game in progress. The Baddow Bandits have certainly given spectators plenty to cheer about. In their first season playing at Great Baddow, they not only won the Winter League last year but have now added the Summer League title to their achievements as well. Congratulations on an incredible success! 🎉

Feeling inspired? The pétanque arena is there for everyone to enjoy. Gather a group of friends, have a go yourselves, and discover why this enjoyable and sociable sport is becoming increasingly popular.
